Forschner. I use both sizes, you will not find a better knife. Maintains a nice edge and is easy to sharpen. I will never buy another brand. The longer one they offer will fillet many fish with just one pass if your good.

only if he throws in the riggers and electronics off his other boat!

Braid is bad. Stay away from it unless it's the backing for core or copper.

We left the dock at 6am and headed north setting up just south of rocky dock. We started of in 60 fow and moved out to 350+ and back in our best screen was around 250 to 350. Made our lake wide gradual turn back We managed a steady pick on lakers and a couple nice salmon. We were fishing for weight for the t-burg raiders derby. We released everything with our best fish at 9.2. Yep we threw back a first place fish and probably a few that were worth a few $$$. Our program was intended for deep fish. We set the riggers at 70,80&90. Dreamweaver NBK, glow frog and green eyed ghost did well. We ran 4 wires 180,230,270&300 all did fish. Green/chrome pro trolls with green fly was our best. Close second was chrome nuclear S/D with rolling rock BW fly. Our 2 coppers 400 and 500 were by far the least productive. We did over 30 lakers, 2 LL's around 5 and a few shakers. We pulled the sliders after 2 or 3 shakers in a row. We basically tried to stay on bait all morning and with the bait came fish. All in all it was a fun day. Off the water by 11:30 to tend to the smoker full of Baby back ribs for an early fathers day. Sunday my crew wossed out and said it was too rough. I think they just wanted to sleep in. Back on the water next weekend.

Wes, Cheryl and I love taking our two labs out with us. One word of wisdom. We screwed our bilge pump last summer due the dog hair that worked it's way down to the bottom on the boat. Now we still use the wash down but we blast the bilge pump and rinse the hair off it.

Scary to take a 16' alum on one of the bigger lakes?

you'll be fine, just don't be disappointed when its too rough. -
Take your favorite LL /Bow or Brown. Just gut it leaving head and tail on. Once completely clean set aside. Next your stuffing. Fix your favorite stuffing mix with just about enough to fill the entire cavity of the fish. We add imitation seafood or baby shrimp or diced clams whatever you prefer. Mix it all together using 1/2 the recommended water and the other half spedie marinade. We like the southwest marinade for a bit of a zing. Mix it together so it moist but not soupy. Fill the entire cavity and let it over flow out. Lay sliced tomato or salsa over the entire top side of the fish Wrap the fish with stuffing in aluminum foil and throw iron the grill until done. And flip once. We cut it just like salmon steaks and serve. Don't be afraid to get creative with what you mix with the stuffing.

Bob Murphy Inc aka Murphy's fab shop. They are located on old vestal rd in vestal ny. The are kinda behind lowes. I know they make them custom their, even on wheels if you want. You design - tell them what you want and they build. They are the only fab shop in town I will use. John

I prefer to run all my lead core off of big boards (otter boats). I will use the scotty power grip releases and put a shower curtain hook on the end to slide it down the the planer line easier. We have had great success with that and it gives you the freedom to pull up to 600 copper right next to a 10 color core. We also set the clickers light so you hear the fish before you see it.

Switch to sharks weights, your problems will disappear. Another option would be run your bottom release a foot up your cable, With a really good dual swivel--on each end of the connector cable so if the ball spins hopefully it stops at the swivel.

I think pokepole waited till he made his 1200 mile trip home before making this post. It is one thing to insult but it is another thing to do it from a far away knowing the possibility of confrontation is slim to none. I too have experienced your posts and you must have a very sad life for I never see anything positive come from you. Oh yeah and my VHF has a new option called on and off switch, it is a wonderful option and I use it frequently. Maybe you should have used yours and prevented all this anger.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once and a while. I am also curious how your old school lures only allow large fish to hit them? If that is the case, you my friend have a lure all of us conservation minded anglers would love to switch to, to preserve our fishery. Please share it with us.

I agree 61 at my dock this afternoon. I finally got the depth raider working correctly. I switched to torpedo wire with the conductive center and had to solder the connection on the klincher. Not an easy task while the boat is bouncing along the dock. Our two labs did their dock diving again this weekend and water shakes did not feel as bad on the legs.

Nice job. I am reading your post and few others while sitting in Trumansburg in front of the pizza joint, waiting for my dinner. The. LOU please no keeps my urges in check while planning my next outing.

Wes, I was up over the weekend and it was bad mid lake but any time the lake takes a jump the crap on the shores get washed out in the water. I am hoping the winds stay down a bit and less wave action will leave more on the shores.

Finger lakes marina on the south side of myers cost me about $1000 for a slip with water and electric. I have a 23 ft boat. If memory serves me she charged a flat $100 to keep the trailer on site. I think winter fees were around $1000 for storage /winterizing and shrink wrap. I personally liked the marina for it's location but the amenities were non existent.

It's people like you that make the rest of us pay more in taxes! It is also people without the proper insurances that push up my rates because the insurance company pays out for stupidity when something goes wrong. Play by the rules or do not play at all or play but don't complain when you have to PAY!

The heck with a flag let's do it right and go with a orange strobe light

After giving this some thought, I bet the IRS would love to talk to them, as well as nys sales tax. Even charitable donations are taxable. Someone should check if a Dba is filled. We all know - especially ny residents, we live and breathe to pay taxes.

I am looking for a place to store 3 boat trailers near trumansburg. Boats will be in the water May through Oct and I would like to keep the trailers close to our cottage in the event of a breakdown or towing to another lake. Any help would be appreciated.
