Try r&r. You will not find a durable spoon. I fish the most of the time and do well. Locally owned, painted right here in Johnson city. www.mytacklebox.com

Cigs, I do not appreciate your implication. Bargain is always to the Buyer. Further more as a business person who understands depreciation, I felt it was a fair question. I does not take a rocket scientist to figure out when you buy something and drive it off the lot - you just lost a ton of money. As for the boat, my reason for inquiry was because I have been on the boat as a customer and it is an extremely clean boat, that Bill has maintained impeccably, and it does fish well. So I am familiar with the boat and yes it would be a welcome addition to my long list of toys. But the price has to right. Bill sorry for the rant on this. In my defense, I have gotten to where I am by searching long and hard for great deals when time allows. My boat fishes great but an upgrade is not out of the question. I will not make any offers before I see you in the spring. Tight Lines and we'll see you on the lake. (Hopefully soon if the water comes up).

What is the new asking for 2012? I am assuming boat has a numbers of hours on her since May of 2010?

I used carpet cleaner with scrub brush and shop vac to extract the soap. I also found using those moisture absorbing canisters prevented it. But to be honest maybe the warm temps this winter allowed the mold to show up more than normal?

I was up at my camp Sunday , even with low water and work done to dredge the channel, most boats will have no problem launching. Stay to the sides though, for some reason the state didn't bring in an excavator with enough reach to dredge the entire channel so there is a hump in the middle. Staff at the park are allowing boats to launch but be prepared they are only letting boats through when the dump truck is off unloading and not when the excavator is loading material. I would guess your weight would be a max of 15 mins. Assuming the operator is good.

I am doing just the opposite. I have always been a big Jon guy but trying to parts seems to be a chore. 3 times in the last two years parts were back ordered and I was down for 2 to 3 weekend. I also have a reliable source who sells big jons new and he states that he has never seen so many returns. Take my opinions for what it's worth.

It is amazing what a difference that extra 3 inches makes. And I am talking the lake level!

Lil Jake is right on. There is nothing better then fishing with two people, boat trolling into the wind and the net man can leave the wheel and not worry about boat being sideways and lines crossing. My wife fishes with me most of the time and the only real problem we run into is not paying attention and squeezing a fellow troller into shallow water. This tends to happen just south of sheldrake. Sorry Hal I enjoy bustin chops.

Health Implications of Fracking for Natural Gas in the Great
Mower replied to fish or swim's topic in Open Lake Discussion
I think you need to get your facts straight. For every good thing to come their is a group of people who do not support it. You do not need to try very hard to find fault in everything. I am actively involved with the natural gas industry (and not for profit yet). I think nys is doing it diligence to protect its residents but at the same time everybody has to agree nys is flat broke. Natural gas is our states savior. -
Got it on the calendar! Let's hope they close the valve at the north end and the lake starts to come up!

1990 22ft Larson. Ray marine x5 I am running it without hydraulic steering and even with an ez steer to a kicker and it still performs flawlessly.

I had a raymarine installed on my boat last year and absolutely love it. I did not make the make conversion for hydraulic steering and it still never skipped a beat.

You must understand the logic behind the NYS DEC and it's request to the state to lower the lake lower then normal. The inlet in Ithaca has been diagnosed with a very invasive weed. They made chemical applications last year in an attempt to control the weed. Now due to time of year it was determined a method of IPM (integrated pest management) would further the reduction of the weed by low water levels. Even though we as anglers are inconvienced now it is an attempt to protect our fishery. My own personal opinion is I will take the inconvenience now to protect the future of my fishery. If you disagree with me, you better get used the tons more floating weeds in the lake and don't complain about it! I support the state and DEC in the decision they made for they are the true stewards of our lakes and ultimately have our best interest in mind. Further more this method of IPM is a 100% free to us tax payers.

Ithaca yatch club is very slow respond. I inquired about a slip for April if the lake does not come up enough to get my boat in and out of the hoist. They do have a one lane asphalt ramp that looked passable last weekend. Another option is to use the south side of myers pt at finger lakes marina. I believe there is a $5 honest box near the office. If memory serves me when the lake is at summer pool they had around 7 fow through the break wall and in the marina. you could call Mrs Forde the owner 607 533 4422. Good luck and let us know how you make out. Mower

ANYONE WANNA SEE A "SENECA CHALLENGE"?
Mower replied to lakebound88's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
I would say the observer would not if to be licensed in he or she was the 4th man on the boat. With the nine rod spread you could say he was not fishing. I would confirm with DEC but that may make it a little easier to grab an observer. Do the observers get thrown into a pool then randomly assigned to boats? -
ANYONE WANNA SEE A "SENECA CHALLENGE"?
Mower replied to lakebound88's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Shot gun starts are fun for everybody, it is something to see for the guys fishing as well as spectators. It increases the level of competition just by seeing who you are competing against. I say one start point and one weigh in. If we are putting this much money on the line, let's keep the "playing field" level for everybody involved. -
ANYONE WANNA SEE A "SENECA CHALLENGE"?

Looks Like an awesome tournament, very well thought out. Before committing, is there a place at the weigh in to rent transit slips so we can pre fish Friday? I am a strictly cayuga guy, so I may be a bit out of my element. -
wtb Black shark downrigger weights
Mower replied to KING ME's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
What size? I may have a couple ten pounders. I only fish the 15 now -
I use the mr heater in the large size. It has a tip sensor and it does allow you to huddle around it. It is designed for the camping, hunting and fishing applications. Do your self a favor buy an adapter so you can fill the little tanks off your twenty pound lp tank you use for your gas grill. Makes it much more economical.

I fish 600 cooper which would put that down 120. I have fished marks on the depthfinder with 175 feet out on the riggers with success. I guess the question is "I know what the counters say but how deep are we actually getting"? I loose site of my downrigger weights at about 120 down then I believe the angle of the cable and transducer cone are too far apart. Me personally i like to hug the bottom with at least one riggers for those lakers that just lay in the mud till something swims by.

Pig tails = your wire twisting so if you get slack in it, you get small loop type twists that typically wrap around you rod tip.

Dave, ideally you want the prop below your transom. But if you can the majority of the prop below the transom you should be in good shape. I ran a short shaft kicker years back and I was not totally below the transom, worked fine but it did create a water disturbance that showed up on depth finder when I bucking a head wind and had the rpms up.

Andy, yes I'm running mags on my deep divers and standard size on my shallow divers. You how things are in the winter, you start considering options to your normal spread to increase catch rate. I made some major changes last year to my conventional program and it paid off. I have a few ideas for this year as well, just wanted to get others thoughts. Do you have a preference on wire brand or type? I am thinking of switching to camo line from the bright stainless for a little more stealth.
