  1. i believe you are talking if your lines are already set... just let the line go a little bit and bring the pole in the boat and attach the slider. throw the spoon in and reset the main line. should be just a few cranks and she she be ready to rock and roll and your slider will be falling.
  2. i hope its big enough!!!!!!!!!!! how big are the guys that your fishing with? i think you will be real happy and no i wouldn't want to be that guy at the launch either. that's one heavy boat! get her rigged up and let us know how she rides.. i tried to get my buddy to look at it but he loves his islander too much. hopefully this will be the end to the dreaded "foot disease"
  3. nope i just saw it on there... nice boat! you should be proud! did it come with a trailer or no?
  4. motoman, did you get that sportcraft off of craigslist?
  5. wow good day!! nice to hear the fish are showing up in rochester. for a while there we were heading west because the fishing has been sloooooww. might have to be at the home port tmrw!
  6. its actually really nice and FREE! i launched my 16 ft down there during spring and headed to the west river for perch. i did notice it gets deep quick down at the south end. some of these other guys can give you some tips on catching the bows and browns but just like the big pond spoons, flasher flies, and wire seem to be popular.
  7. nope i hear ya, its all about feel and every bow is different. This year I really really wanted an 82nd in all black with the cams black too but it felt like my shoulder was going to rip out my socket compared to the solo cam... Didn't like the dxt either. I am 6'4' and it felt like i had a kids bow in my hand so i stayed with my dren. I have heard a lot of good things about the guardian... did you ever shoot the general. man the specs looks like she would be one forgiving bow.
  8. yt, stinks to hear about your farm. I have actually been inquiring the same thing. i have family property but its over an hour away and its hard for the evening hunts before the clocks get turned back. i guess the best thing to do is find small lots through the county or i have been using google earth and i am going to knock on doors to see where i get. For the rut i will be in wyoming "cow" county but after the kings run i run for the tree!! also do yourself a favor and drop that "blowie" and " catch us if ya can"
  9. we ran em on sunday at the oak with no hits coming but sunday stunk so i guess they are worth a shot again when the fish are actually hitting. it seems that all of the big fish are being caught on them!!!! ex. derby winner, also they keep on showing up on attheoak.com more and more.
  10. i hooked one on sunday on a mag lemon ice! does that count?
  11. GOAT RODEO!!!!!!!!!!!!! FREAKIN HILIARIOUS!
  12. man that breakfast sounds really good now!!! we actually went out saturday and tried for a little evening action with only going 3/3 and a real nice 24lb king in the dark. then we grilled out in the parking lot and slept in the trucks for about 3 hrs to wake up to that wind wipping out of the north. never ate breakfast and headed out with no food on board. fished all day with nothing but a gut full of beer. came in and hit up the black north and ate a 1/2lb burger that put us all in a food coma. talk about a long drive back to rochester!!! slept freakin great last night.
  13. thanks i was thinking the same thing but couldn't find pulleys small enough. i will just search a little more.
  14. the lake sure changed by sunday... it was tough pickens out of the oak. went 4/5 mostly wire rips out 120' and 140' with 42 seconds taken the others. we were a little closer than you were. 25 to 29 lines with a north and south troll too. i guess nobody had a good day on sunday, checked the at the oak website and joe and shirley really didn't have anything good to say. glad you had a good day yankee!!!

  22. good luck bretter!! i am starting to get the itch now too. might have to jump over to archerytalk a little more to get the blood bubbling!! also i have hunting land an hour and half away and its hard getting there for a couple days with out the misses complaining. for you non land ownders how did get your permission for land to hunt around rochester? i really miss getting out of work early and heading out for some evening sits. can't do it with the hunting land being so far from me now. sorry don't mean to hijack the thread...
  23. its not so much the cash...ya get what you pay for and i just want to make sure that they back up what they preach on the web site. i would be willing to look at the torpedo weights. couldn't find a web site. anyone got a link. troller do you use the chrome one or black or something else?
  24. are they worth the cash? do they have less blow back than normal balls? do they really attract fish like the add says? should i go with 12lb vs 15lb? reviews anyone?????????????????????????????
