Great!! Can't wait to get my son (5) and daughter (3) on some fish this year. It won't be the big lake, but to them, catching a bunch of panfish on Hemlock or Canadice is fun. Of course, the boy wants to catch a fish as big as he is. That's my son........
Took a few hours from 8 am - 12 noon on Sunday from the South end. Beautiful day, fishing was a little slow at first. Then, I hooked into a couple nice Bullhead, a 13 1/2" crappie (couldn't find his friends), and a half dozen nice-sized bluegills. Also caught a gigantic sucker that looked like a Rainbow trout at first, as the water was pretty cloudy. Always nice to enjoy the beauty on the lake, catching fish is a bonus!
Took a drive down to the north launch this evening with the kiddos. On one hand, I think your boat should float off the trailer. On the other hand, you may need a tow to get your car and trailer back on the roadway....
Last year I asked an ECO who stops by our shop frequently this same question. He said that (in his opinion), a tadpole is still a frog, and therefore not legal to catch or use as bait until Frog season opens.

Fished Honeoye last evening from 6 to 11 pm. Having my guest from Brooklyn here, we set up for a drift from the boat launch, trying to coax a Walleye to bite. Fished between 14 and 22 ft., caught 2 small LMB, over a dozen humongous bluegills, and my personal best perch. Worms and minnows on drop shot rigs from 12 - 18" off the bottom. All the way to Log Cabin Point, no walleye. Still a good night, and Chris had a blast.
Ever tried any of those battery-powered motion sensor lights for inside a tackle box? Got a couple of Mr. Beams' lights, they are REALLY bright, didn't know if anyone had experience with them for low light fishing.
Thanks again, Mike. It's always a fun time on the Brown How'nd. I think Gabe is hooked now, and his family was very happy to see fresh trout coming home for dinner!
Fished Canadice on Sunday from shore, stopping at several little bays. Caught a couple little Brown trout, but it was 25 mph winds and cold - kinda hard to cast into that!
