SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Signed up for the open class last minute seeing it was open for anyone too fish from any port ! trolled saturday from the pump house off sandy too the oak, fishing was super slow with all the ice water that the weather from friday left us. temp was 46 degrees down 5ft so we fished the top 50 fow & managed 4 fish on are way down too the oak and the fish finder was just about blank, marked mybe a dozen fish in the 14 miles we covered, so we run in at 11am to make weigh in and find out that weigh in was close and tournement control tryed too call us but dam sprint cell phone did'nt get reception, owell at least we eliminated some water not too fish .

    Sunday

With all the ice water from the day before and the lack of a salmon bite we decided to try a brown trout program first thing , plan was too grab 3 fast then hunt for some kings too up grade the box. well after 2.5hr and not one hit the brown program was quickly a thing of the past and we pointed the boat north in the hunt for some fish trolled from the 10 to 30 fow we were in & out to 300 with out moving a rod and not a fish in the box and its now 9am turn the boat back around trolling are way back too sandy and in 250 fow we finaly hooked up with are first fish small steelhead 4-5lb now with about 15 mins left too fish and we hook up with a 10lb lake trout and would end are day a fish short of a box and we were thinking that going to the weigh in was a waste of time but decided to go to see some friends and see how they did and weigh are fish in anyways. Are lake trout was just under 10lb and missed big fish by 3 tenths of a lb was kinda suprized about that ands we were only short a 6lb fish from having the winning box, coulda soulda woulda lmao so are 2 fish box end up in 7th place out of a feild of 15 . geuss there were 5 or 6 boats that didnt get any fish and it was real tough out there. well be back at it next weekend and i hope the lake sets up alittle in the mean time. ====================

  3. i think it come's down to the (rules of the road) and the captian of the boat probley had the right of way and you didnt relize it ! but i can"t say for sure i wasnt there and alot of people don't know that there is a right of way in meeting and cross situations ! i run into this with REC guys here and there but ill just turn away cuz i know they do not have there training of the (Rule's of the road) ILL add this ! avoid a crash at all cost there's alot of wing nuts out there !
