Was the boat advertised for sale, or were you guys just inquirering? That would explain the inflated price...... If the original poster would like to contact me, I may consider selling, but the boat will look like swiss cheese after I remove all the fishing gear.
-
Sorry but I have to ask.... Why do you want what is basically a fishing boat, but not to fish in?

good luck with your sale, I hope you sell all of them quickly! i wouldn't want to leave thousands of dollars on a credit card on unemployment. Why not? Isn't that the American way?? -
Looking for guidance on price for my boat...
Shakemsam replied to DaveCox's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
Very true! The market is flooded with decent boats at reasonable prices for various reasons. I have an 88 24' Crestliner Sabre HT w/260 Merc. with gear valued about 6k. I can't afford to sell it. The only good thing is while boats do not hold their value, similar to cars, they typically do out live them. I can't imagine 12k for a 14'er. HOLY CRAP BATMAN!! -

Took about 20 nice 12-13 inchers. Also saw 2 Brown Trout taken at the markers.

WOW! That is a lot better than it's been. I hope to get out tomorrow.

WWIV Yeah I was fishing perch. Fishing came to pretty much a complete halt for just about anything 2-3 weeks ago. Really sucks because I gave up bow season because I enjoy fishing more. LOL

Need some help.........
Shakemsam replied to Shakemsam's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Thanks for the help all. I did make it out but not till evening. Total bust! Saw only 2 boats off the river. It was rolling pretty good out of the NE and it didn't take long for my first mate to turn green. There is always next time. Thanks again! Shawn -
OK guys, pride be damned, I need some help. Heading out of the Genny tomorrow with the family around 6 am. Been out 6-7 times since spring and not a sniff. Also 3-4 last fall and same results. I am looking for colors, depth and speeds. Here is what I have: FF,Riggers, Planers, a couple Dipsys and Spin Dr's, various flys and squids. Lots of spoons but only a few recent ones. I do have a few various NK's, a couple Blue Dolphin DW, Glo Monkey PK. Older stuff like Northport Nailers,Flutter Spoons, etc all various colors. Plenty of J-Plugs! Here is what I don't have: Down Temp, Copper or LeadCore, and TIME! It is getting increasingly difficult keeping the kids interested. I know everything I have asked has been offered in many posts which I have followed faithfully with no luck. Thanks, any help is appreciated! If anyone wants to give me a shout, 24' All White Crestliner HT Shakemsam on CH#16

Any advice for Ontario Smallies?....Hedges?
Shakemsam replied to bosco's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I haven't been to Hedges since last year so this info is old. I did nothing between 10-60 ft last early August except Gobies. Headed to Forman Park and it was the Hedges of old. Minnows and soft shells 15-25 ft and 2-3 lbers and an occasional 4-5lber. You can run from Iron Bay in 20-30 min depending on water or even put in at Bear Creek. -
starter Buying
Shakemsam replied to tree top flyer's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
Master Car Parts was bought out by Pro-Rebuilders who hired all the MCP guys. They are located at 54 Adelaide St. Rochester NY 14606 which is off Lyell Ave across from the old Delco plant. Their number is (585)254-0130. Same great guys, service and prices. Shawn, When did this happen? Must have been fairly recent because I was in their last winter I thought. Also Shawn -

You may want to consider Master Car Parts on Stone Rd. They will rebuild your old one and can get a replacement if needed. -
Looking for Center Console (preferred) but will consider side console or even tiller. Deep V no jons.

Before I grew up, I worked for Loadrite Trailers and this topic came up quite often. It really depends on what you want from your trailer. If the boat spends most of its life on the trailer, bunk is the better choice. More support per square inch. Boat hulls can develop soft spots if sitting on a roller trailer for long periods of time. Rollers also crack and dry-rot and are more expensive to replace than wood and carpet. Urathane rollers are a better choice than rubber and will not dry-rot , but they will crack and they are expensive. Bunks are also the better choice for aluminum hulls. Bunk trailers are cheaper to purchase. Rollers are nice for the ease of loading and unloading. Mostly unloading because I see almost everyone bury their trailer so deep anyway, the rollers don't get a chance to do their thing. If you fish a lot of different areas, use different launches, rollers are an advantage. Just an FYI, for those of you with bunks, you can make them slicker by rubbing the carpet down with parafin wax. There are also after market sprays which work but also wash off after a few uses.

Junk Yard, and they will give you a certified weigh slip. Then fill out the proper paper work at your local DMV. I was GM for a LoadRite Distributer and we did this several times. It really is quite easy. -
Off Pillar Pt. and also Bass and Horse Islands.

9/20 Genesee Report
Shakemsam replied to Shakemsam's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Jeff, it almost sounds like we were in the same boat. I forgot to mention that we did get into a nasty swarm of knats and quite a few bees as well. The lake was beautiful though. Shawn -
Walker Deep Diver.
Shakemsam replied to Shakemsam's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Thanks for the advice guys. It sounds like it must be me. I did try it on both sides of the boat and also various adjustments and tightening the screw. As far as the release goes, it is a bit touchy. I am running the middle size so maybe thats part of it. -
