5/14/2012 - left Keuka Lake state park launch at 9am and trolled north and south of the launch with no luck and very limited marks on the fishfinder. I moved over to the west side on a north troll and found a lot more marks on the fishfinder. The dipsy diver went 3 for 4 and the riggers were silent....maybe a spoon bite. Off the water at 11am. I did keep one laker for lunch.

5/15/2012 -left Keuka Lake state park launch at 9am and headed for the west side since there were more marks there yesterday. Trolled across the lake setting the downriggers with spoons. Before the 2nd rod was set the 1st rigger fired, down 65'. Got both riggers back down, set the dipsy diver out 160' and it fired right away. Off the water at 11am again ending the morning 7 for 8 on lake trout
#1 downrigger at 75' blue dolphin spoon, 0 for 0.
#2 downrigger at 65' green dolphin spoon, 4 for 5.
Dipsy diver out 160'-180' spin dr and fly, 3 for 3.
Here is a picture of the 2"x8" mounted on the back of my boat using versa ball pedestal mounts from T&L products. I can only open the battery box enough to connect/disconnect wires. If I need to remove the battery I disconnect the mount and move the board.
Launched from the state park at 6:30am. Trolled the east side going north and south of the park. I stayed between 100-140 FOW with the riggers set at 65' and 55', and one dipsey out 150' to 210'. I boated 6 lakers (kept 2 for a friend to smoke),all on flies and spin doctors.
I was off the water by 9am when my boat motor developed a vibration when in gear . I guess I better get that checked out before I head out again.
When I first started running wire divers I bought one 1000' spool and split it between two reels. I was using this setup on Keuka for a few years and never had an issue. I do not recall what size reel I was using.
Launched from the state park at 7am. Set the riggers at 65' and 55' along with the dispy diver at 210'. 1st fish was in the boat before the 2nd rod was set, then the 2nd fish was in the boat before the 3rd rod was set. All fish came on a spin doctor with some green on it and big weenie fly, hot mess or cornbread. Fished in 160 FOW to 100 FOW. I double up one time and tripled up another but only got 2 fish to the net on the triple. Ended the morning at 9am going 7 for 10.
Launched in the thick fog at 9am from Keuka Lake state park. Headed north staying between 100 FOW and 60 FOW so I could still see shore somewhat. I set the riggers at 55' (big weenie hot mess and black spin dr) and 65' (big weenie cornbread/white with green dot spin dr) and one dipsy diver at 120' (big weenie hot mess/chrome with green dots). I only fished until 10:30am because of the fog but boated 5 lakers. Each setup took fish. As I was leaving the launch the fog lifted...figures.
I too just mounted those rod holders on the dual rod holder for both my downrigggers. I got the rod holders with the stainless steel sleeve. They look like they should work ok.
