Tough grind East wind bite tonight. Fished from Smoke’s creek to Hamburg shore. Maybe a fish an hour. All eater sized fish. Renosky’s and scatter rap minnows.

I wonder how many of those are fish that made their way to shore are from the alewife survey. The fish that come aboard to be weighed do not live

I would like to report a skunking. Launched out of the Catt. Saw 55 degrees in some bays but the fish weren’t there at this time. A couple of buddies went west out of Dunkirk and got a two man limit. Location location. On a really scary note….holy crap that fog bank that rolled in was some scary ****!! We could not see two feet in front of our face. The GPS got a little squirrelly at one point and I almost put the boat on the rocks. I pulled out my cell phone compass feature and got us back to our track but wow that was unreal. Clear skies with total sky visibility to zero in 2 minutes.

Could it been an upwelling event with low O2 (Dead alewives) causing the bite to be off? Did you notice if the water had an odor?

Friday night the lake should be like glass.

I wouldn’t mind tying up to it for walleye nite casting. The water is moving in that stretch.
