  1. Start high, add weight or diver lips as sun gets higher
  2. I will be down your way for the week of July 4th.
  3. I will plant Wayfair catalogs on your boat to distract them!
  4. Look at those ladies on point! I wish I could get my crew to manage rods like that. What is your secret Rob?
  5. Dave from R&R tackle sent me some pictures of some of his kodiak wobbler patterns, alderton flashers custom painted with a pearl glow, 1.5" mini spoons that would kill on the fingers and Erie. Very impressive.
  6. Can I invite myself onto your boat? You are always on them!
  7. April 1st on Naples Creek.......Get to the river to find a spot on a good pool at 4 am. Wait in the water till legal fishing time. Watch as everyone else enters the water rolling the bank mud into the water clouding everything up. After legal light, enjoy getting your line tangled with the people standing shoulder to shoulder with you as you try to drift a 8' section of water in front of you while hoping the people around you are not belligerent a-holes. NO THANKS. Go the following two weeks and you will be able to find quiet water to yourself.
  8. Cavitation and boat moving effects what you see. You will be shocked how many fish are under your boat when in neutral-not moving esp over deep water.
  9. If I had to pick two....eight and five colors.
  10. Many times they are high enough that they disappear in the surface clutter on your fishfinder. You would have to set the zoom and power to show the top of the graph. I see them in the summer depths on Lake Ontario right before they hit a rigger line so there is nothing magical about them.
  11. I can’t see why having a non-native small population of walleyes in Skaneatles would effect a small population of non-native rainbows. I don’t like the thought of individuals stocking public waters however!
  12. What they are selling at Fat Nancy’s would give you a good indication.
  13. Splash down slated for next weekend. Temp in the 60's. Don't let the snow get you down, get your gear ready.
  14. Flat raps work! I run one off a corner of the boat as a flat line out the back.
  15. I flew over the lake Sunday and I would say 1/3 of lake has ice
  16. Boom is placed across the mouth of the upper river. They probably won’t pull it til mid April.
  17. Boom in place
  18. Carb or fuel injected? Pull plugs and see if there is any water that comes out. See if plugs are rusted. If the block is not cracked it may be a simple fix like a carb job or ignition coil. Take it to someone who will sea trial the repairs otherwise you are wasting your time. Hank in Port Bay and Anchor Marine on Grand Island are two that come to mind.
  19. They do well in Lake Michigan
  20. I would look at Diabolical rigs. I like the accessories on their heads so you don’t need toothpicks
  21. I would love to see a study of lake O salmon tissues looking for pharmaceutical based hormones that may be in the water. How about the stuff in plastics? Stuff changing rapidly in evolutionary terms. The amount of largemouths with melanin black blotches is alarming. Nobody talks about a “fish bowl size” theory. The larger the fish bowl, the larger the goldfish. Perhaps salmon with an ocean evolution are evolving to the smaller lake setting.
  22. Price?
  23. Jigging or trolling? Jigging and family time = pontoon
  24. Cleos work. I like small hot’n’tots fished slow.
