  1. Hmmmm hooks up out of temp... perhaps a little staging action.
  2. Clearly producing children to add more Lakers to the leaderboard.
  3. You only need a barrel. A clasp can open in a net.
  4. If I was fishing for a LOC derby steelhead, I would use a flasher and spoon. The hits are always violent!
  5. Put a good ball bearing swivel two feet in front of your spin doctors on rigger rods. Dipsys have the extra swivel so never a problem on those with line twist.
  6. I believe alewives can hit 4" by year 2.
  7. Steelhead have two years of a good crop of immature alewives to feed on. They look very healthy.
  8. Love the office chair on deck. LOL.
  9. I would have have been worried with a name like "Never Miss". You were one of the lucky ones. Perhaps he runs a salvage outfit?
  10. Yes it works. Match the spoon blank with the speed you want to run. I use a 4-5' leader from flasher to spoon.
  11. I trolled to Canadian border Sunday from Dunkirk.....74 degree water temp top to bottom. NO Thermocline. You will be able to access cold water out of Barcelona most likely.
  12. Go to Barcelona. Warm water has come in. Trout can't handle 74 degree water.
  13. You have to test them on same side of boat going into the current at the same direction. Dipsys on opposite sides same distance back may be 10' different in depth based on how the current is hitting the face of the diver
  14. Remember a key component to depth via dipsy is downspeed. You want to hit deeper zones, troll slower baits like meat rigs.
  15. Prep your family and friends that they will be needed awhile afterward to watch your other kids. Hospitals do not allow other children into the areas with newborns to prevent spreading of colds.
  16. Reelin' for a Cure- could use your help August 18th women's team event at Olcott. Quickly approaching. The event could use your help. There are more teams than boats available. Please consider volunteering yourself and your boat for a ladies team for a could cause......cancer. There is a website on Facebook. You get a hold Capt. Vince here on LOU if interested. Thank you for considering.
  17. Prayers sent. My first was a premi. Born 2 lbs 10 ozs. Don't be stubborn, rely on family and friends and you will get thru it.

    Dunkirk Sunday

Pulled lines at 1:30. The tally was 13 keepers, 4 shorts and a couple of silver bass. Took awhile to figure the bite out but 0 fish on worm harnesses, 0 fish on leadcore and sticks, all rigger and dipsy bite with small spoons. Northport Nailer in 3.25" size in a perch pattern and Northport Nailer Wild Thing spoons took almost all the fish. Size was small from 3 lbs to 15.5". Good for eating but not for fighting. Riggers around 68'-75'. Standard dipsy out 250' and mags out 225'. Good future class of fish. They were spitting up YOY alewives.
