  1. Remove the blister and fill with Marine-Tex putty before you bottom coat with paint.
  2. Nice buck. Congrats!
  3. Scary indeed. This is where the mandatory boating class may be helpful. Hopefully the course covers carbon dioxide and death from electricity leaking from marina dock power.
  4. I use Shimano Tekotas 600’s for divers and Saltist 30’s for riggers. You will appreciate the fast line retrieve on the Saltists when a rigger release goes off.
  5. Tell all your friends to call you even if they know where the deer fell. Give the dog as many reps as possible
  6. With a warming trend on the horizon, and a moon, expect that poor daytime deer movement pattern to carry thru the weekend. Time to work the dogs on some grouse.
  7. Alewives should begin dropping into their fall/winter deep pattern that will eliminate them from the bass’s menu. The suspended smallies should leave their pattern and move to deep weed lines and rocky points. Better fishing to come.
  8. I love it. I could watch them all day. Seems like that creek could use a healthy dose of stream improvement gravel and current break boulders. It looks really silted-in.
  9. Holy chit mon, that is a dandy!
  10. Crash? The bait futures I saw at the end of the year say otherwise.
  11. Hot’n tots in the tail outs of runs. Word of caution..., slick jagged rocks, swift current, and the water will raise after 8 am for the falls viewing public
  12. That lake is similar to Chautauqua in many ways. When I have a crew of newbies on board, I will grab some nitecrawlers and some white marabou jigs to tip with a small piece. Find the hard weed edge on the side of the lake the waves are crashing on and anchor the boat just off the edge on the clean bottom. Drop lines to bottom, bring bait up 1’ and tingle it. Fish from dinner time til 10-11 pm. You will catch almost every species in the lake to complete a fish fry.
  13. Probably gizzard shad but could be young of the year alewives.
  14. Wow, this is getting spicy! My suggestion to close the Salmon River from October 15th to November 15th was to close it to killing fish but not fishing. Catch and release river-wide for one month.
  15. Close it down October 15th to November 15th. The hatchery has reported problems with the eggs staying viable In the past if conditions are too warm.
  16. no angst now! I knew if I kicked the tires long enough we would learn Lucky 13’s name. My work is done here.
  17. let me get this straight......neither you or King Davy are guides?? So who are you representing in the reported so called “secret” meetings with fisheries? If you claim to be representing the common folk river angler in your quest for Atlantic Salmon for-all, who elected you guys to the position?
  18. Ya that was a softball thrown up. Too easy. I am sure there is a joke to be made using a peanut reference or putting something down below and it came back slimy with green spots. That is half the fun with lake trout.....the discussions we have.
  19. ......so you are saying Gambler likes fat chicks?
  20. I got word that all the new proposed changes to hunting seasons will not go into effect this year. No Christmas hunting.
  21. It happens to great, well experienced Fishermen every year. Last year a well known Canadian fisherman that has videos on YouTube, died fishing solo.
  22. Think spring spread with planers along shore and pierheads. Larger jointed sticks and yes you probably will poke a king.
  23. .......and replacement blade availability
  24. It would be helpful to the viewing audience if began your counter point with.....”Full disclosure, I am a guide (or was a guide) on the DSR. Here is my prospective......”
