  1. Six shakers and a laker. Off at 12.
  2. Trolling for 30 minutes now. One shaker to show. The bait off Wilson inside 100’ is insane today
  3. I waved the white flag on those Wilson fish. They bested me.
  4. Started swapping everything out to chase browns. Small spoons, small snaps......nice king hits, great fight then small snap decides to open .......,ugh.
  5. I have been working inside since 8:30 and have one king to show for effort. I can’t tell you how many marks and bait pods I have run over. The fish are acting like stagers and are even collimating vertical. I even broke out slide divers with Lyman plugs. Frustrating.
  6. Sometimes you have to leave the rods out and just go hunting with your graph.
  7. I just graphed them during my reconnaissance but the had their face in the bait.
  8. You don’t have to go deeper than 100’. I found good bait and fish in close.
  9. Slooooow. Heading in. Eliminated a bunch of water for tomorrow
  10. Mat. Weed mat. Fighting fish and waves makes it hard to text lol
  11. Beware of weed mays 240-200’. 311’ took two more kings. Major came on meat rig down 100’.
  12. Rip and miss on chute 200’ weighted steel with flasher/fly
  13. Set up off Wilson now heading west. One shaker at 250’. Temp is cool 55 degrees down 58’
  14. I will take it Brian.
  15. There are places around each port that fish end up at during roll overs. Savvy charter captains know these spots. I may have said too much ....my life may be in danger bringing you this information.
  16. Bury the net in the cuddy, get some tangles and start working on untangling, check lines for fleas and shakers.
  17. I will be out Friday-Sunday
  18. The good news is there is food o'plenty this year in the woods.. I went for a scouting walk on some state land Sunday and found hickory nuts dropping, acorns in tree tops, a good apple crop and the corn has recovered from the lack of rain in June. Lots of good sized tracks from hold-over deer due to mild winter. It should be a good year.
  19. There is a theory, less bait-hungry fish-easier to catch. Also, I think we have had some good natural reproduction on kings to supplement the reduced stockings. I have caught more three year olds this year than any year I can remember, and yet I have not cracked 22 lbs.
  20. That’s a fish IMO. I would think dragging copper would not have those acute angles as shown. A boat shadow is probably not that different than a bait ball shadow.
  21. I was trying to figure out the last time a 30lb fish has come over the gunnels. When I did the math I couldn’t help but be a little shocked that it has been seven years. Any doubt that the winters of 2014 and 2015 would have a lasting effect have been erased from my mind. The mild winter this past year and super warm summer should have a good effect on bait numbers. I am starting to see algae blooms on satellite images of the lake which I have not seen since 2013. Lake Erie smelt have rebounded this year so here’s hoping lady Ontario is on a course to start spitting out 30’s with more regularity.
  22. I believe if you add peroxide to the concoction, they clean up in ten minutes. Tarnish slides over to aluminum
