    Another thing I did to my cannons was change from the stock cannon two prong terminus to a Minn Kota receptacle termination. Better connection, heavier gauge wire.

    So in setting up my bow I realized my old style of pins and the hindsight system that had served me so well does not work on the new riser designs. I picked up a HHA Optimizer single pin sight and got her dialed in. So cool the algorithm system that has you shoot at 20 yards then 60 yards to figure out the coinciding sticker to place on sight which then allows you to shoot out to 80 yards by dialing in the site to the known target distance was an epiphany! I have never shot past 40 yards and with the new technology, I was placing 5” groups at 60 yards with junk waste arrows and a crosswind. My eyes have been opened.

R&R tackle -email Dave at mytackle box.com and tell him you are interested in Kodiak wobbler blanks. He can paint up whatever you want or go on Northportnailer.com for northportnailers. The extra bend gives tremendous side to side action at slow speeds. A good tool to have in arsenal.

    Despite etech’s excellent track record on reliability and safety towards the environment, there have been rumors that states were considering the banning of non-four strokes for water quality. I think those rumors spooked potential buyers.

    This time of year chase the green water. Look at satellite images on modis Great Lakes site. Case in point, there is a report of someone catching kings offshore near Devil’s Nose. If you look at the satellite image from that day, you can see a detached piece of green water that made it offshore. That water might be gone in 24 hours.

    Shorten leads and when lowering, have rigger rod in hand placing directional pressure on rigger weight away from nearest line ie pull to the starboard for starboard rigger, pull straight out back from middle rigger and pull to the port for port rigger weight. The number one reason you are getting tangles is make sure lines are running straight out the back when lowering. For this reason I usually figure out which way the down current is running and try to head straight into it. If your gear is angling back across the transom you will have more tangles. The other reason is small fish pulling line lateral but not popping the release.
