No amenities will be open. I would also add if the launch is being used irresponsibly by not following social distancing guidelines, the launch will be subject to closure again. Please keep it to family and solo excursions only. Thank you for considering.

Chinook35 thank you for your service at a difficult time. Prayers and blessings to you and your family. I am also in a high-risk health field and well versed in universal precautions. I have a slightly different view of people getting outdoors (NOT Walmart shopping). First, vitamin D (sunlight exposure) is essential to a healthy body. We may be lessening infection rates or duration of illness by getting proper dosage of sunlight. Flu rates in Florida vs NY are quite different. Second, buildings in cities may be creating an environment for spreading Covid-19 (anecdotal -needs to be studied). People quarantined on cruise ships that stayed in their rooms still got sick. Historically, cruise ships would have a horrible time with Norovirus outbreaks because the virus particle is too small and passes thru ventilation Hvac filters. The Cornavirus is a small particle that also is too small for filtration by hvac systems. Guess what systems buildings use..... hvac systems. We MAY be making the spread worse by keeping people inside. I don’t want you to feel dread when you see people outside. There is much we don’t know about Covid-19. Stay safe. Wear your mask tight to your face and try to stay positive!

Under your premise of keeping your eyes wide open, might I suggest that you stop only watching Fox News. I do agree with keeping boat launches open for boating families only. Also, under the umbrella of keeping your eyes wide open (even if Covid attacks mucous membranes). I was wondering why N.Y. is getting hit so hard and cities like San Francisco not as much. San Fran did start mitigation sooner but still such a HUGE disparity. Perhaps the LOU community can solve this riddle. I have a theory that the ventilation system in NY high rises allows for spread of the virus. I think about my own house with a cold air return recirculating air and can’t help but think buildings in NY attempting to save money in heating and cooling costs have building designs with recirculating air flow? Does anyone know how high rise buildings move air? -

The Yamaha 20 hp is supposedly the same weight as their 9.9 hp. I ran a 9.9 for years on my 23’ boat and it pushed it at trolling speeds fine. The one time I needed my trolling motor to get back due to problems with the main motor, I wished I had more hp. Get a long shaft.

Stickbaits & Spoons on Leadcores
Gill-T replied to Reel Doc's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
If you can figure out the leadcore formula for putting a spoon just off the bottom over the depth you are fishing, you are going to get bit by the larger, bottom-hugging, goby-eating browns. Sounds like you figured it out. -

Stickbaits & Spoons on Leadcores

Typical drop is 4-5’ per color assuming a 2.4 mph speed and letting out 50’ of braid backing after the leadcore. -

Shoreline brown trolling you probably should be using a 1 color or 1.5 color. A three color at spring speeds will probably end up around 15' down so if you turn a little, you will dump it on the bottom. Off shore in a few weeks it is a good length for cohos and then again in June for offshore steelhead. -
