  1. The kings have come back. We did well west of port in 95-160’ in the afternoon. Mostly a flasher bite.
  2. This year class of three year olds has shown a predilection for choosing spoons. Don't fight it, give them what they want.
  3. Kansas tag secured
  4. Thin spoons or spoons with a heavy bend work at slower speeds. The picture below is a R&R 5 1/8” Kodiak Wobbler mag. Note the heavy bend in the spoon allowing it to dance at very slow speeds
  5. I was doing a lot of swimming that week but every night I put antibiotic ointment on with a band-aid. It seems to me it was something in the water (runoff from farms or sewage dump that occurred in Seneca Falls earlier in week). It very strange to have five different puss pockets on two different hands.
  6. Agreed. Small ones are shaken off with pliers off swim platform. I have Boca Grips but you have to be careful you don’t have the jaws open and drop fish from above ( that fish would go in cooler).
  7. Some of you may have seen my post on fishing Cayuga lake during July 4th week. I incurred numerous cuts on my fingers while attempting to get a quick photo of the fish before releasing. Whether teeth cuts or gillrakers or whatever, my fingers went thru hell. Not sure if anyone else on this forum has experienced anything similar but my cuts calloused over but became increasingly painful. Things culminated early Sunday morning at 1:30 am when the pain in my fingers woke me up. I sensed something was wrong. Taking a pair of nail clippers I cut open the healing calluses and found a plethora of pus underneath. Upon draining and scraping each area I felt immediate relief and things are healing normally. I don’t know what was at play. Embedded tooth shards? A pathogen? Flesh-eating bacteria? If I was diabetic I would have been in real trouble. I included a picture today of some of the healing wounds. Last fish touched was July 5th (12 days ago). Hope this helps someone NOT put their hands in a dirty greaser’s mouth. I am going back to kings! Perhaps finger lakes has a different meaning?
  8. R&R tackle carries thin flutter spoons that will work at cowbell speeds. Super lites are on their website at my tackle box.com Not present on their website are the Kodiak wobbler line of spoons that have a heavy bend and produce great action at slow speeds ( you will have to email Dave to ask for these)
  9. A lead ball on a three way swivel trailing a presentation .....usually cowbells or a dodger/fly. Usually for bouncing bottom.
  10. Go thru them directly. Great customer service. Sometimes they send the part for free.
  11. Northport Nailers have the most durable finish. For walleyes their 3.25" sized spoons and their "wild thing" spoons work well.
  12. Clearly firm structure with no fuzzy weed growth between. Looks like a good hang out.
  13. Legal action is the only way. Chase the money. I am sure there is a lobby that the shipping industry uses.
  14. The Opti-grab glasses were a big hit back in the day. https://m.facebook.com/pages/category/Company/Opti-Grab-188543405397/
  15. Boats of guys fishing were seen circling.
  16. Well done. I had grand plans of fishing out deep today but wind and waves had other ideas.
  17. El skunko. Smelled three different road killed skunks on way down to the lake, the water had a post roll-over smell, the wave forecast was wrong, one crew member failed to wake up ....,should have slept in. Trolled out this morning from 140’ out to 260’ and back. Marking only a handful of marks and baitpods. Lost one on a meat rig down 80’- on briefly, and then lost a screamer that chewed thru a 20 lb Fluor leader (clean cut) taking with it a R&R Kodiak Wobbler mag. Smelled a rat so pulled plug after a three hour troll. Hits were out over 240’. Hopefully the smelly water settles out by next weekend.
  18. On cue, a bunch of olcott fish weighed in today on LOC. I will be out tomorrow. Have not seen Ontario since May.
  19. Good water heading back to Niagara county shoreline. Kings should be around tomorrow. How is Pirate Days effecting the launch?
  20. Nice report. I would say the Browns look healthy this year!
  21. My brother is in the market. I will pass your info on to him.
  22. I saw a lot of fish with lateral fin clips
