  1. Get clippers with a hole in the end and attach a retractable key chain to them that hooks on your belt and you won't drop them overboard like pliers! (I hate when that happens) Shawn
  2. That is too funny!!!! :lol Where do you get this stuff? Shawn
  3. Yes, Jayvee is just East of Portland. They do a great job on reel repairs and are very reasonable. Been going there for years for a variety of things and never a disappointment. Good luck. Shawn
  4. Will be there as well. Shawn

    Salmon

Nice fish!!! Did it go onto the filet board in the background or on the wall? Shawn

    Bass Pro

About a month ago I was there using up gift cards and coupons and they had a good selection of everything except terminal tackle IMO and their prices are comparible to most. Shawn
  7. Nice pics!! Thanks fo sharing! Shawn
  8. Hopefully this comes out ok - first time posting pics. My biggest to date with a muzzleloader. Shot at 130+ yds. Rough scored at 128-6/8". Couldn't get close enough to this guy during bow season and then at 12:05 on opening day he came out of the woods at the other end of a field from me. He started walking right at me and twenty minutes later I had to take the only shot i was going to get as he headed back into the woods. This is what it's all about for us at "camp". It doesn't matter if it's a doe or a trophy, we all gather for assistance, photo's and high fives. What really made this day special for me was having my Dad and Son there to share the experience. 'bout time

Thanks gotaway! Welcome to you too! Those Landlocks are awesome up there and it is disappointing the numbers have dropped off. We used to keep a lure just out of the propwash and catch quite a few - that's a blast! Shawn
  11. Bomber long A's have worked great for me. Tough to find some of the discontinued colors which of course seem to be hotter. Why is that? Shawn
  12. 'bout time I did this. I have gotten back into Lake O fishing after being away, fishing Lake George and Champlain the last 15 years. I fished out of Sodus last season with a friend of mine until getting my own ride - a 1967 20' Pennyan that I got wet a few times late in the season out of Oak Orchard. Didn't do too bad last season, but boy do I have a lot to learn! I feel very fortunate to have found this site and enoy the commoraderie displayed here which is very addicting!! (Any self-help groups for this yet?) I look forward to being an active member and meeting a lot of you. Good luck to evryone this upcoming season!! Come on spring!!! Shawn
  13. Does anyone have a spare laptop they could lend Ray for his vacation? I may actually have to do work now..... Seriously though, have a safe and fun trip Ray!! Shawn
  14. Now that is funny!!!!LMFAO (Good thing I'm on break at work - huh Ray) Shawn
  15. Thanks Rod! Appreciate the "heads-up"!! I will be "hooking-up" with Hank as soon as the weather breaks. Shawn
  16. Sounds like a reality TV show in the making!! Shawn
  17. Second the carpet. I've always carried a spray bottle of dollar store cleaner (Awesome) cleans blood and other spots easily. Like the carpet on wader sole tip - will be trying that one! Shawn
  18. John, you have a PM. Shawn
  19. Thanks guys!!! Exactly the info I was looking for. I know the previous owner had the switch go bad before and it "repaired/replaced" by a marine dealer. Ray, you hit the nail on the head with docking experiences - hard to make that turn into the docks at the Oak without neutral!! My choice of words were "slightly" different though . Want to get this done now before marina's etc get too busy as I'm not sure if I want to tackle myself. Hank, expect a PM when I get time. Thanks again!! Shawn
  20. Thanks Hank!! Getting that time of year to start getting things ready. Is it the lower shift cable that activates the neutral switch? Hard to tell from the book, but there is an adjustment they say can be made as long as you have two people. I tried scoping this out before putting the boat in the barn, but unfortunately time wouldn't allow and hunting season came! Thanks again, Shawn
  21. I have an old PennYan(1967) with a mercruiser 165. I had a problem shifting into neutral while on the water last fall (fun trying to dock). It shifted fine out of the water running with the earmuffs on, but on the lake it was hit and miss - mostly miss! I know it has a cut-off switch, but don't know if there is any adjustment or is it time to replace. Anyone have any similar experience? Thanks, Shawn
  22. Best for me anywhere has been a bucktail jig with a 6" jelly worm in purple or white. not too bad in the weeds, but best on the edges. Hand tied jigs are superior. Used to have a guy tie them for me in exchange for supplying him with tails. He has sinced passed away unfortunately. Good fishing! Shawn
  23. Their website has some good FAQ's States that the pink stuff is good for all types of gas - even with Ethanol. The Marine Stabil is new and appears to be better for regular use in treating gas with Ethanol added. see http://www.goldeagle.com/sta-bil/stabil_marine.htm Shawn
  24. I second "Ringneck"! Great people who treat you like family. Their birds are top notch and FLY nice!!! They have access to a wide variety of terrain and cover. They also have a cabin for rent out on the property. I haven't stayed in the cabin, but a friend did withhis kids last fall and loved it. Have not heard about Pheasant Haven either. Shawn
  25. Oh no, an excuse to go to Gander Mtn!! Will put some out today in my travels. Shawn
