Use this link to find yourself a boat; http://www.statewidelist.com/Results.cf ... ton=Search Stay away from walleye central unless you want to overpay for a boat. Those guys all must think their boats are made out of gold. I sold my 1800 Pro V SE this spring and it was a 2001 dual console that was loaded including a sport dodger top and I paid $11000 in 2009 from a dealer near Cincinnati. Good boats - sold mine to get a Stratos 386XF with a 150FS Yami. Real nice boat. -
Any details on the Airstream? What year, options, and any pictures. Thanks.

Fishing Report: Port Whitby
HBC replied to howitzer's topic in Ontario, CA Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (North Shore)
Fishing out of Darlington was hot on Friday (11/14 in 3 hours fishing); cold on Saturday (3/4 in 3 hours fishing), and terrible today after the thunderstorms that rolled through last night. Took about 3 hours before we found what they wanted and then quickly boated 3 fish in 1/2 hour before we packed it in for the morning. Next weekend should be good if the winds stablize. -

Just wondering if you have the same posession limits in the US as in Canada. We can keep up to 5 trout but even if you bring them home and they are in the freezer, this is still considered posession so if you keep more then you are voilating the regulation. Is this similar in the US? Man you guys have lots of browns on that south shore!!! -

Need your Help - STOP Great Lakes Wind Turbine Development
HBC replied to web-fisherman's topic in Open Lake Discussion
People who think these things are excellent for producing power for the grid need to let go of that tree as it will not walk away from them. At best, these are only a compliment to something like a nuke, coal, or hydro plant. So why would you put something into the water, which is a tourist attraction as well as others have stated, the GREAT LAKES, for something that may power a small city? I would propose that they put a few of these on top of some of the worlds larger structures, such as Empire State Bldg, the Statue of Liberty, CN Tower, and perhaps they should also throw a few on top of the Great Pyramids in Egypt. Makes about as much sense as dumping these in the GL's so that in 10 years they are a rusty eye sore. -

Why don't you give Trannyman a shout in Wellington since he can tell you straight up about the damage inflicted by those that did not follow the regulations......irregardless of which province they reside in. Keep your eyes shut and you will have nothing to worry about but if you care about your fishery, one needs a big set to report the infractions because it affects everyone in the long run. Sure the influx of people to enjoy this great fishery is awesome but if the number of fish decrease, there will not be anyone to worry about since the lake will be void of boats. 5 fish in 4 days!!!!!! Wow, the fishing must have died off (as the reports indicate) in the past week. Was planning on heading out on Monday, but I'd rather work on my 26' Striper than catch 1 or 2 fish. Good luck out there! Have you tried fishing in front of Newcastle since it seems the fish are easier to locate there vs in front of Darlington to Oshawa. -

thefrenchman, I reside in Bowmanville and have fished these waters well before many out of towners knew of the area in the 80's. If you want my real name, pm me and I will provide it to you because I have nothing to hide. I also remember how some out of province anglers were charged out of Wellington many many years ago for the same fraudulent topic I mentioned because some of the local anglers tipped off the CO's there and guess what, they no longer fish out of Wellington and now have moved further west to Port Darlington. I can also tell you that the steelhead fishery here was second to none from the Ganny to Oshawa Creek in the 80's and 90's as well and now the fishery is dismal because everyone fishes the Blue Zone. I've been fishing the tribs since the late 70's so I have witnessed the crash that overharvesting has caused for the rainbow fishery. I am also a volunteer for the local fishery and help out with the chinook egg collection in the Credit as well as helping out at the hatchery - all strictly volunteer work. I also help with the patrol of the local tribs for poaching and other infractions as I have the local CO's cell number on speed dial as well. So if you think my screen name makes me less of a concerned angler, you certainly have the wrong impression. What I pointed out was fact - you can only have 2 rainbow in your possession at any time which includes what you have in your boat plus what you have in the freezer. Some, not all as I do not paint everyone with the same brush, anglers from Quebec are in violation. I know of some excellent anglers and sportsmen from Quebec who LOVE to fish....they just love it!!!! As long as nobody abuses the regulations, I have no issues. Fishing has certainly slowed down lately and I will be out on Sunday since tomorrow I am at home looking after the young one.......good luck to all. -

Problem is that some of the out of province people do not abide by the regulations and there are freezers full of rainbows.....remember you can only have 2 in your posession now which includes the freezer. Not 2 per morning outing, another 2 in the afternoon, and then 2 more in the evening.......each day, every day. -
You are safe in a 14' boat but you need to pick your days.....N or W wind days are good for a boat that size but you cannot venture out too deep. Find somebody who fishes the lake and ask them to take you out if you don't want to run a charter. Also, the best place to buy colderwater species tackle is Tightlines in Pickering. Don't bother going to that big store north off the 400 because their selection is crap. Tightlines has tons of A-Tom-Mik flies which IMO are the best out there and match them up with any green/pearl pro-troll flasher. And if you have never heard of Tightlines, be rest assured that they are a top salmon/trout store as they run one of the best one-day salmon tournaments on Lake Ontario (Tightlines Shootout). And when the fish start staging off the rivermouths in a few weeks, your 14' boat will be perfect for flatlining in front of the rivermouths. Best lures are J-14 chartreuse or fluorescent rapala and some spinnies/flies off the riggers or dipsey.

Lakeport Bowmanville
HBC replied to horsehunter's topic in Ontario, CA Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (North Shore)
There are signs once you come off Hwy 401 at the Liberty St exit. The launch is in poor condition so if you have a 23'+ boat, you may be better off launching in Newcastle which is only 5 minutes east of Bowmanville. Not too many musky found near Bowmanville. Some pike but I have only seen 1 caught in the lake in 20+ years of fishing there. -

I had the Scotty Black Box and I never found much of a difference in my boat. Who knows, maybe it is just my natural talent that turned the fish off. -

Hey, not to hijack a thread, but if someone has spare cannon or other fishing decals that they want to give away (or sell), I'd like a few for my own boat as well. I'll pay for shipping as I live in Ontario. Thanks
