I'm sure most of you read that they captured a grass carp in a Michigan tributary on Lake Huron but this one is the first that was not sterile. On top of everything going on now, people (including myself) getting antsy about going fishing, this is all that we need. One could only guess if and when these proliferate through the GL system. https://www.mlive.com/news/saginaw-bay-city/2020/04/invasive-grass-carp-found-lake-huron-tributary-likely-came-from-lake-erie-dnr-says.html

Those that are being selfish are prolonging this and I'm not just referring to fisherman. If people just listened and stayed at home for a few weeks, did the minimum travelling for essential stuff (work, groceries, etc), then maybe the season won't be written off. I'm as antsy as the next guy here but I know I'm not going to compromise anyone at home or at work (essential business). I'm rigging a new boat and can't wait to get it out but I will wait. They are shutting down the launches on the north shore already, marina's are completely closed, and yet some people still head out fishing with friends up here. They still think the spring KOL is a go however I can't see how that is possible with the 5 person limit for any public event.

Don't have to. We have a good Premier who has taken extraordinary steps to address things to slow this down. People are getting fined for not adhering to the Emergency Laws that have been enacted. Unfortunately our Prime Minister is a complete moron. He's too busy playing in his Tickle Trunk or planning the next time he will appear in either Brownface or Blackface. As spineless as they come. I have no problem stating that he has flaws...…. And this isn't a US/Canada thing we are talking about. This is serious **** happening right now and some people just will never get it. Not too many people are considering fishing up here and boat ramps are being shut down. So I guess that since I'm not a US resident I cannot comment on your President's comments. Go ahead and bash Trudeau, I couldn't care less. I'd encourage you to bash him if he made ridiculous statements.

No matter where you look, there is propaganda and lies everywhere, including all of North America. All we can do is control what we and our families do otherwise this will be around for a long period of time and the economy will be in the toilet. The quicker we adhere to what is being stated, the sooner we can resume some normalcy.

Well written and completely agree. Some people are very distressed with this and others not so much (not a reflection of what is stated on this website but what is observed/reported throughout North America) so all we should focus on is listening to those providing sound medical advice, i.e. medical experts. As an aside, the Spanish Flu origin was not from Spain.

State of Washington Closes Recreational Fishing
HBC replied to Rookie Fisherman's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Crazy how much of a difference there is between US and CDN fishing regulations. You get almost a full month jump on CDN's for trout. Fish will still be on beds until mid-April. Same with the green carp (bass) season but I don't care about those things. -

You better do more research as most of the transmission occurs when there are no symptoms present, in the range of 48% transmission rate. The findings mirror those in 2 other recent studies by Dutch and Japanese investigators that also point to the problem of asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19. Japanese researchers looked at the 634 passengers who tested positive for COVID-19 on the Diamond Princess cruise ship. They found that 17.9% of these passengers were asymptomatic. Dutch researchers estimate that the “the proportion of pre-symptomatic transmission was 48% (95%CI 32-67%) for Singapore and 62% (95%CI 50-76%) for Tianjin, China.”
