  1. There was only one ticket on board. Uh, what a bummer!!!
  2. And I toned it down considerably. Tom B. (LongLine) Well said, Tom, as always.
  3. Vote the ones that didn't sign out of office!!!!
  4. It's nice to know that despite that, we're still welcome on New York's Lake Ontario!
  5. That's where I got all my parts, as well. I had everything shipped out to me within a week.
  6. While we're on the topic of radio chatter, did anyone happen to be monitoring Channel 21 and 22 on Saturday, early afternoon? Sounds like there was a boat taking on water, which TowBoatUS went out to get, but then later, it sounded like a search operation on 21. I heard one boat say they recovered (2) people which jumped overboard. Anyone know what that was about? I saw on the news the boat that overturned in Oneida Lake, but this talk was too close to Oswego, as I was hearing majority of the transmissions on 21. I think Oneida would be too far away to hear anything going on down there.
  7. I used to monitor 68, but have since taken it out of scan and told people who don't already know to find me on 78 or one of the other channels used around Mexico Bay and Oswego. 68 has gotten completely out of hand and the things being said on there are not what a little kid trying to enjoy a day of fishing needs to hear. Just for giggles, I put it back in scan a few weeks ago, but had to take it out again within 30 minutes. Nobody needs to hear that garbage any day of the week, especially when you're on the lake trying to relax.
  8. I zoomed in on my house, and my boat isn't there and the trees don't have any leaves. Possibly an early spring or late fall picture?
  9. We were there as well, in our Islander. Only fish we boated were browns in that 75-85 ft flat between the Little Salmon, and the plant. Ventured down the shelf to get temp, and ended up in 180-190 ft. Holy smokes!! Wrong move. We were in 4-5'ers, occasionally busting over the winshield on the way back in to the Big Salmon at 6-7 mph. Semi-same scenario last Sunday. I think we are gonna' have to send an invitation to the Kings, to come over and play. Hope the wind is way less this coming weekend. We had some almost come over the bow of my Islander, as well, and I knew we were in some serious waves. We found 44-48 degrees in about 150fow down 80-85 straight out from the LSR. But, the waves forced us back in shallower. Days like that, I wish I had a 12,000lb boat. But, I'll keep my Islander. A-TOM-MIK was getting kings over by Oswego, I found out today. Wish I'd known that Saturday. Oh well. Try it again this weekend in the LOC.
  10. Awesome report, Bill. Mother Nature wasn't very friendly to us in Mexico Bay, either. By the time we set-up around 5:15am, the winds were already strarting to pick-up and by 9am, we had whitecaps and 3 footers. We stuck it out until about 1pm, trying all we had, but the winds and 4 footers were just too much to handle. But, awesome report and nice job, Jay!
  11. Ok, here we go again with some sneaky tactics. My neighbor at the lakehouse, who has been on top of the windfarm "project" since it first became public knowledge, provided me with some interesting information over the weekend. There was a very large vessel out in Mexico Bay recently, floating along from Sandy Pond to Nine Mile. He thought it was a USCG Cutter at first, but learned otherwise. Apparently, this particular boat was refurbished using government stimulus monies and was outfitted with some high-power side imaging cameras. He did some more research and came to the conclusion that this boat may have been out there taking pictures of the sediment and bottom structure of the lake. Hmmm, windfarm studies??? Checking to see what the lake bottom is made of??? He couldn't provide too much information, but isn't giving up and will let me know when he finds out more. Looks like someone is trying to sneak around behind our backs and do this pinwheel research and studies without anyone knowing.
  12. Interesting. I thought it was a little suspicious and a little too coincidental, what with all the windfarm talk going on, although it has quieted down. While trolling Saturday, I did happen to see a boat with 2 guys onboard poking around the outer-most buoy. The boat was a battleship grey center-console with absolutely NO markings on it. Not even a registration number. That alone got my suspicions up.
  13. Anyone know what the DEC is researching in Mexico Bay? Around Catfish Creek from the outer limits of the Nine Mile buoys due north to approx 100fow, there is a line of buoy's with orange flags. The buoy's are labeled DEC Research. Any ideas?
  14. Sounds like a challenge to me! The guy I'm bringing up tomorrow fished the spring LOC and Mike's LSR Challenge with me. He's hooked on Lake O fishing! He's been following the reports on here; trying to convince him to just join LOU. He's seen the weights coming in from Oswego & the Bay and is chomping at the bit to get up there this weekend. Just hope the kings stick around for him and we can get a good presentation going. We won't be up until probably 9pm or so tomorrow night (we both have to work), but hope to be on the water bright and early Saturday morning. Will you be up? If so, I'll try getting in touch with you on 78.
  15. Nice. Now I know what to use my LSR Challenge gift certificate for at Jon's.
  16. Thanks, Shawn!!
  17. I'm going to say 42lbs 9 ounces, caught by an LOU Member, in Mexico Bay, weighed in at Woody's or Lighthouse Marina. Yes, may be a bit high on the weight, but we're already seeing 38lb'ers and the Derby doesn't end until Labor Day. Still lots of time for bigger ones to show up. Keeping my fingers crossed that Mother Nature cooperates with us and allows us all to experience some monster kings!
  18. I've had my 22' Islander since 2005 and love it. I only trailer it long distances 2x a year (once to the lakehouse, once back home to PA). Overall, I think it's a great boat. I've had it in 5 footers before and never felt unsafe or felt we'd never make it back.
  19. With what is showing up in the eastern end right now, it's definitely going to be BIG!!! It'd be nice if the winner was an LOU member, too!
  20. What do the DW Shiznit and the NK Seasick Waddler look like? I don't see them listed on either website.
  21. Nice report & congrats on the monster king!
  22. Beautiful fish! How deep were you and how far down was the fly?
  23. Good information to have. Thanks for the heads-up.
