I talked to 4 of them as they came off, said it was scary, they could hear and see it cracking as they were walking so they decided to head to shore. They did catch a few nice ones. The other guy was still out there at 4:30, but I guess he made it in, his car is gone. They said there was only 2 inches at best in spots.

We were told at the Syracuse Boat show that they in fact had a fire and lost their molds. As far as not rebuilding, no one said anything. Arney's still has 1 left over in their yard if you got the cash.

Randy Stewart at Clingerman taxidermry did my King and did a great job. He also did a brown for a buddy and he was also very happy. He is located in North Rose, NY and his number is 315-587-2259.

They look awesome and I want to try it but I have a few questions for you:
1) do you leave the skin on the fillet?
2) how do you store them after they are smoked, in the fridge, freezer or they don't last that long to worry about?
3) and how long will the keep for after they are smoked?
I know whenever I smoke venison, it doesn't last very long around the house, but I try to freeze some for later on but not sure if that works on the fish.
Thanks

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

Fished on board Echo One with Jack and a buddy of mine, Dana from PA. Water was bumpy but the fish gods were with us today. We had 3 nice kings, 22, 24 & 28 lbs, and a 12 lb king as well as a small laker, and a 6 lb brown. Hot setup for us was a green fly with a green e-chip paddle on the dipsey set on a number 3 out 250. That setup did all the big fish, spoons did the rest. Also dropped one on the wire and got bite off on the green fly. It was nice to see my buddy land a decent fish for a change, thanks Jack.

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
Went out with Jack aboard the Echo One and started out with 3 small kings that went back, then the 82 foot rigger popped and the fight was on! The fish ran 2 or 3 times while Jack cleared the other rods and started going straight down, well after a good 10 to 15 minute fight we landed a beatiful 34 lb. (on boat spring scale)King that measured 40 inches long and had a 29" girth. So after a little heated discussion with the wife, it's at the taxidermist.
Thanks for a great day as ususl Jack!

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
Took the wife out for a morning ride since the weatherman said it was going to be nice this morning. Oh how wrong they were...again. Waves atarted at 1 footers and when the wind picked up it seemed to be a constant 3 with and occassional 5 thrown in. Anyway at least we got 2 nice fish, but my goal was to the wife reel one in, but it was all she could do to hang on to the wheel while I got them to the boat. Hopefully next time.

ice
in Ice fishing
Just got off ice along Grassy Point, ice is still 12 to 16 inches but there is about 8 inches of water on top and a heavy slush on top that. It is very tough walking and I have seen a lot of guys walk 50 feet out and turn around and leave. The fishing has picked up a little. Good Luck

Nissan Tohatsu Kickers
in This Old Boat
Posted
I have a Nissan 9.8 Long shaft I use as a kicker. It ia a 2009 and was perfect until midway thru last season when something was wrong with the carb. your right, dealers not too close for service an hour and half ride for me one way. Anyway, the first trip they said it was bad gas, which gummed up carb and not covered under warranty, so there went $200, which I didn't believe since the problem of surging started all at once. So 3 trips to dealer and no kicker for the last half of the season, now it has a new carb. (at no cost to me) it's sits in my basement waiting try it out in the spring. When it was running, I couldn't be happier with it, pushes my 21' cuddy at 7mph if needed and all day of trolling on less then 3 gallons.
Good Luck
