  1. if you have trim tabs they can also help.start out all the way up and after you are are around 1800-2000 rpms give em a brief shot or two down.should raise the back.had an underpowered bayliner once only way to get on plane.try the pitch first
  2. nice.atlantics are pretty.
  3. i have two of each.if i were running 2 to a sde i would put the eagle claw closer to stern on 1.5 and the heartland forward on 3.for what it's worth my divers bump bottom 10 feet deeper with the eagle claw rod than the heartland.
  4. also glad you are okay. skipper19, in mex. bay small boats with no lights are an everyday occurance in front of the little salmon. bass and walleye guys and rarely any lights, they scare the fish i am told.i came in a few years back with my old 24 ft carver in three ft rollers, wove around every one i saw and came way to close to an anchored bass boat, maybe 50 ft .never saw him untill he was amidships and we were both in the trough.no light.most of themuse bic lighters.
  5. nicely done
  6. nice save.i caught a nice steelhead a while back while un-packing the boat(egg sac on bottom).tried to release several times kept resting his chin on my trim tab.finised packing and checked on him, didn't think he'd make it ,grabbed my net.one look at the net zoom he's gone! why would a fish rest his chin on the tab for close to an hour?
  7. nice job and no one gives out the real story the day before a tournement.
  8. short drive away is clayton, home of the boat museum, with a ride on a replica gar wood.adirondack museum in blue mountain lake is easily an all day tour in some of the prettiest country in the state.
  9. that is great service.
  10. awesome fish.
  11. great report, thanks.am going out(finally)for the first run this year.was thinking 103 off catfish to start,i do well there in june.
  12. sounds like a great time.maybe with a little luck i'll see you.
  13. i use the larger size, with the power-ring or whatever they're called.i've never tried walker deeper divers so can't comment.you can convert any rod to a wire rod by changing the tip to a twilli-tip.dipsy hits are hard and neither power pro nor wire has any measurable strech, the snubber goes on the back ofthe dipsy, not the release, and cushions the impact preventing break-offs.i think they are essential with wire and power pro.i have two power pro rigs that i use for high lines and two wire rigs for more depth.both have caught fish.and you'll soon discover you'll want more than two.i used 45 lb power pro, i think it dives a little deeper.hope this helped.
  14. nice fish and nice pics.i think the tech term for that water is"bumpy but fishable''.
  15. haven't checked in for a bit. she has been slipped for some years.comes with a trailor.any more info you should call dave.
  16. well rod,at least it's not the pink thong rich and john wear.
  17. mine is a yamaha 9.9 high thrust, w.o.t. 6.2 mph trolls anywhere from .3 to 5.remote control and power trim and tilt on mikes custum mount.have spent some time on boats with honda eights and would agree you won't go wrong with either.my kicker comes out of the water in threes.only time i've run one of the mains was fishing crosswise in strong wind and turning was tough.gas is off main tank, tied to my charging system and linked to the auto-pilot.
  18. oops! first mistake i've made since 1976.
  19. i believe they refer to north and south sandy pond, alittle north of the big salmon river south of henderson harbor
  20. pursuit track system mounted on an alum. rail made by mike d'alonghi at mikes marina in mexico ny.one of mikes winter projects.
  21. a view i won't see for a bit and a future capt.,one of my friends kid.
  22. first try i am not good at this
  23. stay out of the four barrels and you will get surprisinglygood milage out of her.i don't troll with the big motor often but would guess about a gallon per hour when i do.as close as i can figure 1.8 mpg @3000 rpm.need to get a gph meter to be more exact.
