Good point Captain I like the grid idea as well and I think the structure of this event is going to bring Ontario events to a new level. Just look at the enthusiasm and excitement it has produced to this point. By leveling the playing field and expanding, what Vince calls the grid, to our brother fishermen to the north shows the direction this committee is driving to. One thing that I am truly impressed with is the rapid response to questions and up to date information by the committee members.... Shade

I agree. I know that we are off most of the week to pre fish and there are pros and cons for the Charters. Most of these guys have years of experience under their belts but running a charter they have to focus on putting fish in the box for their clients. There customers are not interested in tournemants they just want fish so this put them at somewhat a disadvantage. Another thing to keep in mind is by allowing us to fish in Canadian water it has increased the pond quite a bit and I know we will be purshasing a license as well. May not be worth the hassle but if thats were the pods are ya gotta run it. This is gonna take all the skill and knowledge for us ametures to compete but what a challenge. We are pumped...bring it on.... .. .. Shade

Capt. Vince, I am a week end fisherman and what I would like some direction is: 1) We all know conditions can change day to day so if you were fishing Saturday just week ends how would you prepair yourself? Another words what should know before you arrive and what should you be looking for when you arrive? 2) Most of us run 6 rods, so what would be a good starting program? I am not asking lure names but would you start off with spoons or spoons and flies? Would you run wire, Lead Core or all riggers? 2) Where would you start...what water depth ? Again I am not asking for GPS coordinates but if you want to PM a couple I certainly would not refuse... Another words how should you prepair yourself with a Norht blow vs. a West blow, cloudy day vs. Sunny and what top water temps should we be looking for? Thanks, Howie

I saw Bob C. in November and I believe he said the Niagara was June 4th and 5th and the Orleans was June 11th and 12th. Those are the only two I BELIEVE are the dates. Shade

Thansk Capt. Vince. I will probably just buy 2 new spoons. I have a Carbine 14 and a Shiznit that got beat up at the end of the season by a couple of Kings. I'll try my best but still replace both spoons. Shade

It is copper line. You can get it in 30# or 45# test. First you need a good 30#test mono or braid line as a backing, then spool your copper either 300', 400', 500' as high as 700'. Then you want to put about 30 - 50' of flurocarbine line leader. This rig is run down the shute (center of your boat) or on big planner boards (big john). Copper line runs about 22' down for every 100' out. The difference in running copper vs. steel is you eliminate the dipsy (less drag). Downside, it is a very heavy rig with the pole, reel and line but very effective. Check out A-Tom-Mic web site and you will see pre spooled reels. Shade
