Every day we go on the water we put a program together. A program is like a recipe, it takes some ingridients to make it successful. What lures are we using whether it be , ATM, Big Weenie, Siggs Riggs, DW, Northern King, Mich. Stinger, ETC. Then we look for what depths we will start in and we put our faith in our electronics and gear. Finally we hope that the reports and advise we got from LOU will make for a successful outing. If my program is successful and a certain product are putting fish in my box then and I put their logo on my shirt, boat or even tattoo on my a$$ to show my appreciation that is my business. I will not allow anyone to tell me I can not wear my shirt or run my boat in a tournement because I happen to have a logo of a company who is not a sponsor of that event. If the event committee is going to allow blurring of names then they need to get permission before they take any pics. There is no way i would allow my pic taken if they are going to alter my atire. If it wasn't for these manufacturing companies that put these great products on our poles, lake Ontario would not have the success it has nor would the tournements. If it wasn't for the LOU website and the experience that Billy V, Free Spirit, Maverick, Chromslayer, Thrillseeker, Crazy Yankee, LOTSA memebers and some of the other novice fishermen that are willing to share their success stories and advice the entries for these tournements would be far fewer then now. Like I said if showing my appreciation is putting their names or logos on my boat or shirt so they may get 5 minutes of free advertizement so be it. The tournement committee does not help to win, its the ingredients in your personal programs that did. SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION...Stand by the guy who gave you the products.....do not get cought up in politics. Howie

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Hannah Christine ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):7/10 (not 7/9) Time on Water:0700 - 1130 Weather/Temp:75 Wind Speed/Direction:NW 12-15 Waves: 2' - 4' Surface Temp: Location:Olcott LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 16 Total Boated:12 Species Breakdown:Kings, Bows, Laker Hot Lure: SD's/ATM Shreaded Crinkle, Hammer, DW Gator,NBK BP Trolling Speed: 2.5 - 2.8 SOG Down Speed: 2.8 - 3.2 Boat Depth: 140 - 170 FOW Lure Depth: 60' - 70' ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Got a late start due to some minor boat issues but we where able to get underway about 0645. We where honored to fish today with Kevin (aka KGonefishin from LOU) and his buddy DJ from OHIO. Great guys with an abundance of fishing knowledge. Just wish I had my video camera watching DJ real in a nice King while my brother and Kevin where moving poles back and forth while during this kings achrobatic show of which I never seen before. We started inside 70' and got our first fish in about 140 fow on port wire set back 170'. It was a rough ride most of the day and the hits were comin and goin. We had our best rips in 150 fow and every rod took fish, with 4 fish coming of our 10 color lead with snap weight on a MNT Dew SD/ATM Mirage. We boated 12 of the 16 fish with a couple of Bows in the 11# and 12# range, a nice 18# King. We were able to release 5 and boxed 7. Hope we can get together again Kevin..... Here are some pics. Howie

Larry, I do not know if it was a thread on WD40 or Fleas or even fish attractants. I just remember some discussion that someone uses it and it was said it was used as an attractant some years ago. No big deal just asking if anyone tried it this year. Shade

I read a post here last year where it was reported that if you sray WD40 on your line before you send it back (on your spool) it eliminates or at least reduces the flea buil-up. Anyone trying this ? Shade

Two great days in Olcott. Started in 170 on north troll and immediatly our starboard wire fired. Had it back 170/greenglow SD/ITO Irish. Sent it out and again fired. Both fish where 1 year olds and both where released. When we hit 250fow spoons started to fire, NBK Black/Purple strip, NBK Sea Sick Waddler, on both corner riggers running 60 and 70 down/ sliders. The first 4 hit the slider spoons. When we hit 275 fow we had a triple with the magnum spoons fired along with starboard wire. We had to box one teenage king and released the other 2 cohos. On our turn to go south 70 rigger fired with a double, 2 bows on same pole gave my son a battle but we boated both. All in all we fished until from 6 until Noon and went 27/30 releasing 20 and boxing 7. Mix of Kings, Cohos and Bows. Nothing big enough for Derby. We returned Monday, 7/5 and headed toward our WPT's and started off the same as Saturday hitting 9 fish in 2 hours. Then it went dead for about an hour. Wires started going again, port set back 270/ Green SD and AGG ATM Fly, Starboard same Green Glow SD/ ITO Irish. Decided to change up lures went back to mag sea sick on pole and reg. sea sick on slider on the 70 rigger, mag frog on pole with ss glow frog on slider on the 85 rigger. Ran center brigger with mag nbk purple/purple stripe at 60. We began getting constant mixed bag but nothing very big exception couple of teen age kings. I sent my 10 color lead down the shoot with a chrome echip flasher/ Hannah Christine fly(home made named after my grand daughter) and it fired 4 times (see pics of fish on the deck) and that made my whole trip. Finally we had a screamer of the port wire set 270 back/ Gator SD/ Green Chrinkle fly/Black L J Dipsy. It screamed for 150' before we could start to real in, got it to 200 and ran again to 350, again started the reeling and it turned and ran 100 the POW wire breaks at the pole . Could not beleave it, wire was only a week old. If ya catch a nice King with a Green Crinkle ATM fly, SD Gator, a black LJ Disy pulling 350' of wire at least give me my gear back All in all we went 20/26 with 8 in the box. Returned Shade

Tim, Keep this in mind. The pro/am is about points, like the old saying in golf.....Drive for SHOW.....Put for Dough Do not target just Kings. If you get lucky and boat 3 Kings at 20#'s each = 90 points.....Now fill your box with a mix of salmon and trout that may have an average weight of 6 - 7 pounds = 150 points. As far as the prize, all depends on entries period. If you get lucky and get your 42# King you will have to waite until you box is released by the pro/am committee or you will get Disqualified. Good Luck.. Shade

Capt. Vince, I will be in Olcott tomarrow and then Thursday for the Pro/Am. I am docked at "D". Boat with Red Flybridge. Howie -
When I purchased this boat it came with a Raymarine Smart Auto Pilot. When we where out a Low Battery signal came on. Question: Does that mean the battery in the boat it is connected to is low or is there a battery in the Auto Pilot itself, if so where is it? Thanks, Howie

The only lines it attached to was my Baided line that was running on my port side boards, the 20 lb that was on my starboard rigger and my planner board lines. My steel was fine and my flea flicker lines was fine. It was brown in color and felt and looked like fleas. Shade

Well said Rod. I agree wih you except where you thanked Dave Turner for taking the time to explane. Dave Turner has an OBLIGATION to the sponsors and participants when rules are changed He new what the ramifications where gonna be and if he did't some of the committee sure should have. The timing for this was no mistake. I understand their vision to grow the Pro/Am and to have TV coverage. What are they looking for? More out of state participants. Unless they up the number of Pro entrees what good is it? I am just wondering if there is a video this year that some of the Charters who really deserve to be catured on video there 15 minutes of fame. Like Capts Vic, Billy, Rick, and many others who help us put more fish in our boxes by their reports and feed back when questions are asked. These are the real Fishermen who motivate us to get involved in the derbys and tournements up and down Onatario. I agree Rod, hold off until next year with these changes and give yourself more time to think outside the box for a better way to meet accomplish your goals. Howie
