  1. Nice place. I have been there. If you shoot archery they have a nice Dart Range also. Shade
  2. Yes Capt. V I did by a Flybridge. I will probably run it to Olcott between the 16th - 24th and I intend on waiting for a calm day. I do not know if bringing up in 3 weeks is a good thing or bad but I can not get it any sooner. I will just take my time and have my son bring our 50 power binocs along for a better view. Shade
  3. I am bringing my rig from Sodus to Olcott around the 17th. My biggest fear is the trash flowing west. Shade
  4. You absolutly right Skipper. This was based on a discussion on many topics. I myself have a few favorite flies as many others do and I have run several different leader lengths along with speeds and depths. Thanks for the input. Shade
  5. Do you guys have a web site to purchase on line or prices? Shade
  6. It is recommended that you run between an 18" - 30" leader between a Spin Doctor and your fly. Is the length of the leader measured from: 1) the end of the treble hook to the SD swival 2) the end of the treble hook INCLUDING the SD swival 3) the nose of the fly to the SD swival 4) the nose of the fly INCLUDING SD swival 5) the length of the fly + Flurocarbine to the swival 6) the length of the fly + Flurocarbine + the swival Shade

  8. Thanks CT...what i was trying to figure out was according to Legendary you start with a 18 - 30" leader from the Smart Fish to the lure, then a 20" Mono leader from the lead core to the Smart Fish and FINALLY you use 3 colors of leade core and attach to the Ball. They never said about letting out any backing before attaching to release. I should have assumed that but I did not. By Legendaries instructions the 3 color lead core would not fulfill its intention of dropping the set up 15'. Then of course you get the normal intelligent response from Ray K. Shade
  9. Mark, Welcome to LOU. Great school RIT. I am from Class of '73. Good luck..fish safe...have fun Chad, Did not know you are a grad of RIT.....congrats. That explains the outstanding job you have done with LOU. Howie
  10. I heard of the Trip Z but I can not find where to purchase them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Shade
  11. Rod, Um..well....um ....no comment but knowing you I seen one of the daily prises heading your way. Shade
  12. Mark. Did ya register with the local authorities.... Shade
  13. Thanks Pete..I bought 1/2 dozen spoons from you at the LOTSA Flea Market most had orange backs. I also purchased a couple of the 2010 DW SD's as well. Yes we bought a 30' Cruiser/Flybridge.
  14. I could not find any custom spoons. Shade
  15. I agree with Tim. I also understand that the person who owns the boat takes the fish to be weighed. The daily winner is the name of the boat not the person who caught the fish. Good luck to all, Shade
  16. Thanks Tim. That makes more sense. Daaa on the lead core legnth. Howie
  17. I was reading some tips on running Smart Fish Flashers. One of the test they ran was to run 3 colors of Lead Core with a 20' leader of Mono to the Smart Fish then 18 - 30" leader to lure off a downrigger. If you attached the line to the release right behind the LC you would be 110' off the ball. I am trying to picture this. We know lead core drops about 5'/color which would put the line at a 45 degree angle, correct? Would this not have an effect on the rotation or presentation of the lure. I am sure they performed this test but if the line stayed horizontal, which it could not, the LC would not serve any purpose. Some better explanation from whomever run these would help. Thanks, Shade
  18. There are some spoon manufatures that use split rings and some who do not. Has anyone taken the ring off of spoons that came with them and if so was there a difference in the spoon performance? Shade
  19. I only asked if anyone used the flies. What your personal preference is what works for you. In my arsenal 70% of my flies are ATM and 60% of my spoons are DW. But like everyother fishermen I try different looks. There are days I may be using lets say LBB by ATM and I change to a LBB by Howie and it starts putting fish in the box. That does not mean I am going to stock up on Howie flies. I have seen post on here several times when someone will ask what is you favorite 3 spoons or 3 flies. Seeing that I have way to much time on my hands I have documented these survays and some of you would be surprised at the outcome. I'll try anything if the fishing is slow. I never used Big Weenie but I purchased 1/2 dozen at the LOTSA flee market. I never used ITO but I am going to try them this year as well but that does not mean I will push aside my favorites. Shade
  20. Trolling 82, You are never going to find any book with the exact science on trolling with dipsys. The books that are out there are all based on the most popular lines various dipsy's with a spoont at trolling speeds of 2.5mph. There are many variables like various flashers, water currents, wind direction, speeds and types of baits. The books have great information, I have one myself. What you need to do if want a better picture is to get on your boat and hook up your favorite rigs (remove hooks from flies and spoons). Start with mono line and set it back 150' and start in 50 fow and come in shallower until you bottom out. Continue doing the same thing with each of your lines, various size dipsy's at different speeds and that will tell you what info you need. It takes time but it is well worth the effort. Shade
  21. That means if you let out 200' of wire with you mag dipsy set on "0" your line will be 96' deep. Shade
  22. Pretty pricey if you ask me. Shade
  23. I can not even see the video. The screen is blank. Shade
