  1. I guess the faces tell the story. Great job Rod. Shade
  2. Wow, I am not sure but 20lb balls are awfull heavy for riggers. My heaveast ball is 12 lbs. and I run down 150 but what do I know. Shade
  3. I have a Cannon also and I do not use the coated cable. I have a 8' beam and I run 3 Scotty riggers. I have my cannon on the starboard rigger and I run a 12lb ball. I run this rigger inside 100' and at 100' my counter shows 120. I run my center rigger the deepest and with a 12 lb ball at 140 I read 160. I normally troll between 2.2 and 2.7 depending on current and weather conditions. My outside riggers have 2' booms and my center has a 4' and I drop it right through the wash and my corner riggers are at 45 degrees. I have no problems with my cannon and do not use a wet towel. I grounded my antenna to my rigger. I ran a wire from the end of the coil to the rigger. I also put my release 2' above my probe, this way my probe staye in the water when I change setups. Shade
  4. Great report, solid fishing. Dawn keeps Olcott in great shape, she deserves a lot of credit. I have been docked there for the past 3 years with no complaints. Now if the weather would cooperate !!!! Shade
  5. Ray, Keep the faith. I believe Muskybob will be back in his motorhome and fishing before season end. Howie
  6. This is what happens when you drop a fish on Bobs boat: This was from the Oswego Pro/Am. It just so happened that the guy in the first pic dropped the hat accidently on purpose in the lake. Shade ps: Guys Bob made me post these.
  7. Billy, I do not feel so bad now. We where out Saturday in Olcott running 160 fow with new 30' wire, 40 lb leader from dipsy to SD and ATM flies. The first screamer went 500' and the battle ended with the fish breaking the hook from the fly(tied from ATM). We setup again using another ATM Hammer and the very next screamer snapped the 40 lob test between the Dipsy and SD. We still ended up with 10 0f 12 but nothing big enough to show off. Sunday we go back and to make a long story short we lost , NK spook, 3 SD/Flies and Smart Fish/fly in less than 3 hours. I have 30 lb big game on riggers new this year and I have been putting 40 - 50 lb leaders between dipsy's and flashers. Things went so bad that my rigger cable broke and I lost my ball. Never, ever lost a ball. Lucky it was not on my Probe. Congrats anyway on the 3rd place finish and Friday tournament. Shade
  8. Our prayers are with Musky....he is always here when ya need a question answered...very nice gentlemen. God bless and best wishes on a speedy recovery. Howie
  9. Jason, Auto Pilot will not work on my boat. I contacted Raymarine and unit will not fit my Boat. Steering shaft has to be 3/4" - 1" my shaft is 1 1/4", also boat has to be under 25' and under 10,000 lbs. My boat is 26'. Thanks, Shade
  10. The Auto Pilot is sold Shade
  11. UpGrady, I have a hard time believing in curses. We have been catching fish all season on this boat while we where switching gear from our smaller boat and getting cought up with the last 3 pro/ams and family matters. Now the boat is fully ready and we have some time to spend on her, we will be just fine. The curse on the Red Sox was some 75 years before they finally won a world series and I am a devoted Yankees fan but since the Red Sox accomplishments they still are one of the best teams in baseball. Saying that once again I think we will do just fine in boating some quality fish out of the BIG O. Howie

  15. ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date - 7/17/09 Time on Water: 7:30 AM - 11:00 AM Temp/Weather: Overcast with light Rain Wind Speed/Direction: NW - 15 - changed to WSW 8 Waves: 3 - 4 footers early, 1 - 2 footers Surface Temp: 68 degrees Location: Olcott LAT/LONG: ? =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 12 hits Total Boated: 10 Boated Species Breakdown: 6 Kings, 1 Bows, 3 Lake Trout Hot Lure: NK28, Moonshine,Green & Blue Spindoctor with Green and Blue A-TOM-MIC Flies Trolling Speed: 2.5 - 2.7 mph Down Speed: 2.2 mph Boat Depth: 150' - 200 ft Lure Depth: 60',70'& 80' riggers, 70' & 100' on wire and 80' on Copper ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== There seems to be a rumar that anything to do with Bananas is voodoo for Ontario. Well we purchased a Boat and she is named Bananas. Because we had commited to fishing another boat on Pro/Ams and the birth of our new Grandchild we have not fished our boat much this year. We where determined to end this foolishness about Bananas and Ontario. Here is how it played out. We purchased 2 lbs. of Bananas, whore yellow shirts and went on Bananas. We put our first rod in at 7:30 and took the last rod out at 10:45. We went 10 of 12 with respectable size fish(nothing to yell about), the largest was 3 kings close to 20 lbs. All fish where released except 2 that would not have survived. The first to fire was our Riggers then we got a triple on our 2 wires and one rigger. Copper never fired once. All in all we had ablast and we will be back tomorrow to try a place one on the board. Bananas and lake Ontario is a good combination.... Have fun, fish safe and take a Kid and a Banana fishing... Tell Paul C. of Free Spirit, IT WAS NOT THE BANANAS!!!!!.... Howie

  20. www.attheoak.com. There is a lot of information on the Oak site. Also keep watching the fishing reports on this site. Where on the lake will you be fishing or what part of the lake are you fishing? There are a lot of knowledable fishermen on this site and depending on what part of the lake you are fishing I would siggest you get some friends together and go on a Charter first. Shade
  21. Chromeslayer, Can you give some details like depth, temp and some hot lures? Are you fishing east of Wilson near the red barn or closer to Olcott? Shade
  22. Keep one thing in mind.....EVERY FISH IN THE OCEAN HAS TEETH. Shade
