Paul, I am NOT going to apologize because I gave my opinion on th Pro/Am. This topic was posted asking what we thought and what changes we wanted to see as AMATURES. If it offends the committee thats part of the job man. If it bothers people on the question of observers then explain why we have them and why so much info like wieght points, times and lures used. Explane why Amatures who want to fish with the Pros can not get in if the Pro side has met their limit. I think you guys have a tough job and that goes anytime we volunteer to do something as far as tounaments or even planning a trip. Unfortunatly you guys have to listen to all the complaints that will come about no matter what rules you you put into play. By weighing in the first 6 fish I thought was a great way to keep the integrity of the the sport in hand. Good rule. Taking out the bonus fish....Good Rule change. I'll bet there are 20 teams or more out there that did not like the changes. Had the quetion not been asked My team would have looked at the 2009 rules and wopuld have decided wether or not we would enter. But i will not apologize to you or anybody else on giving my wish list of tournament changes. Howard Nola - IS MY NAME

Runnin Rebel - the one I marked gold NK is Copper and is stamped NK. Which ones have you identified besides the one marked "G Final" on the front? I know NK means Northern King and I did look at their web site and I still could not identify any of the lures marked NK. Thanks, Howie

Looks like the Amature division of the Pro/Am is going to be just a handful unless some drastic changes are made. I looked at the rules of the Scotty and I do not see the need for Observers, however the ocmpetition is not for me either. Like some of you guys said if ya don't like it don't enter. Well I guess I'll save my $250 fee + the $75 Observer fee + my Hotel $150 and $200 we spend in Olcott restaurants and just have some fun with my friends fishing. No hard feeling guys and I truly wish all you guys luck and stay safe this year.

ELIMINATE OBSERVER - Brighter and larger flags so we can see at a distance the tournament boats and police them ourselves. CHANGE PRIZE STRUCTURE - have prizes for largest Fish each day, and 3 fish weight each day....Biggest fish for tournament and most weight based on a 6 fish max each day. Salmon Only The problem is if you only catch 3 -4 fish the first day you are basically out of the tournament. By having a daily prize, you can weight one, two or three fish max and have a chance at some dollors. All the fish that are in the lead stay at the weight in area and are checked if they win. In the walleye Tournament in Dunkirk they have a Biologist from the DEC and they check the fish and can tell what waters the fish came from. Last year a team got caught with walleye caught and brought down from Ohio. MOVE THE TOURNAMENT DATE FOR NIAGARA - either the first or second week in June. I realize the Charter Captains have clients but what is to say we have to have both ternaments at the same time? The Nigara tournament gets to crowded with everyone fishing between 50' and 150 feet and boats trolling North/ South and others going East/West with these charters running 8 poles and outriggers and boards 100' from their boats.

Yankee, We have 6 cameras up at our property. 2 are the old style with the 35mm film and 4 have the card. The 2 cameras with the 35mm were on two seperate log roads and both camers the film was taken out. What we found out by our neighbor is there has been an exceptional amount of 4 wheel traffic running the properties and they probably ran my logging road and got the picture taken. We added some dummy cameras that will flash and some and cameras we set on video to see if we can catch the punks. Howie

I am just one of many fisherman who only go out on week ends and occasional holiday. I will fish any tournament if the format is fair for every guy or gal out there. I will not fish anymore tournaments where i am up against charters. I am an amature and i will always be an amature. I do not have the rig, the equipment or the knowledge of the lake like you charter captains. It's like bowling and you have a 150 average and the guy you are up against has a 200 average. Without the 80% handicap you have a slim to no chance a beating him but with 40 pins you have a chance and the 200 guy will still beat you 7 out of 10 times but you have a chance. Keep your tourneys pro/am and you will get more supporters and entries regarless if its a grand slam, 3 biggest or like they do in Erie they have what they call a calcata. This is an extra pot for the single largest or 3 heaviest where here it could be the largest BT, another for largest Laker, largest steelie. Keep it simple but fair for all and it will be a success. Do a 2 day tourney or a one day $100/boat with side pots additional $100/boat. MY TWO CENTS...........

Thanks Mark, however I know how to rig I just needed to know how far back to run off ball, SD, etc. I can not get that section you sent to expand so I can read the numbers, any suggestions?

Thanks Mark

Does anyone run attracters like flashers in front of their familiar bites or do you just run the bait by itself? How far back do you normally run this bait off the ball?

Maybe I am not clear on my question. How long a leader can you have between the dipsy and spin doctor before the spin doctor does not perform, 10ft, 15ft. Right now I run 5-6' leaders between my dipsy and spin doctor. With a slider I can run the dipsy farther back and still land the fish because the slider will slide down the line. How far is to far?
