  1. Awesome stuff yet again Captain Hajecki!! I can't wait to see the video. Tight lines, Chris
  2. BTW - Snedden is a superb gentlemen and sold me great stuff today. He gets an A+ endorsement from me on anything he sells in the future to folks on LOU! Thanks again, Chris
  3. Same here Tom. Love your reports and great pics! Good luck this year and stay safe, Chris
  4. Snedden I can't get PM to work Call me at 301-2197 or PM me I will take them all thanks, Chris
  5. I think there's two choices: fish tight for browns and the sporadic king along with 90% of people this weekend or be brave and venture far offshore to fish the chinook and steelhead highway out there and look for surface temp breaks. I think anything in between is going to be tough if it's cold and clear. If Matt and DVD Dan can't find 'em, they ain't there! Good luck friends, Chris
  6. Spike - this will be my third set with the same problem but these are my DR reels. My BJ Planer reels seem to be OK. First two sets replaced at no cost. This time around BJ is giving me a hard time (they want pictures, me to unwind my cable on both reels and send them the reels for them to take a look and go from there). Needless to say but that puts my downrigger fishing out of commission for a few weeks. I fish 12# torpedo weights which is within the Big jon guidelines for my Captain's Packs. I can PM you my contact guy at Big Jon. Perhaps if he hears more of this, he would be a bit more understanding. Personally, I thought he would just send me two reels at no cost. I have lost some respect for them over there to be honest. Chris
  7. My family goes to the Cape every year. We visited the Wood's Hole area two years ago and it was superb. It's a marine community and you can learn a lot. There is also a boat that you can take out called the "Hands on Discovery Cruise" which is great for kids. I'm not up on any good charters out of the cape, but give the Goose Hummock tackle shop a call in Orleans and I'm sure they can give you the local low down on a good charter. Have fun in the Cape - it's one of my favorite places on earth! Chris
  8. Hey friends, I added a link to our video - hopefully the link works. Tight lines, Chris
  9. Hey bud - I added them to my arsenal last year. I use my slide divers exclusively with mono and my dipsys only with wire. Thus they each have their place. I use them when targeting the top 30-40 feet of water and I must say they can be a deadly tactic in the spring or even offshore for top water steelhead. They can be a little bit of a pain to deploy, but after you get the hang of it, it's not too bad. Chris
  10. WTG on your solo expedition!! As always - be safe out there and best of luck! Chris
  11. Hello friends, You have to post the good with the bad and today was bad. It goes to show you that you have to evolve with the conditions, as yesterday was a stellar day of Spring King fishing, yet today we headed to our waypoints from the day prior only to be greeted with colder water, less green, and void of any fish marks. We fished from 20 fow to 75 fow, and only managed two small king salmon. We tried a brown program, dragging cowbells for lakers, and after that didn't work we trolled closer to the bay and that's where we found the two small kings in water that was a full 3-4 degrees warmer than the ice cold water east of port. The following took fish today: Mixed veggie standard size spoon Glow frog SS on a slide diver Good luck to all - I hope folks did better than us today, Chris
  12. Wtg Don! Nice job out there. Tight lines, Chris
  13. Here's a video link from Sunday's action: (sorry about the goofy royalty free music): First time fishing this year with my great pal Anthony and our first official trip of the year. We fished with the armada just east of the bay and yes I must say that the word is out that Rochester is the place to be - it's got to be the most boats I've seen trolling near I-Bay in years. We fished two slide divers, and a varying mixture of sticks and three and five color cores of the boards, along with our two riggers - between 20-27 feet. We caught 8 Chinook salmon and my biggest Atlantic salmon to date, and had an absolute blast on the water. Four of the kings were all in the mid to upper teens in weight. We initially thought we might have a chance at an LOC king, but I think our "boat goggles" got the best of us and the fish was closer to 17-18#, rather than over 20. I did not have a scale on my boat............ All the following caught fish: Wild bill/Buffalo Bill DW spoon Fuller KOS DW Standard 42 sec Wonderbread off the slide diver Awesome day out there, although the bite stopped around ten or so. Good luck to all, Chris
  14. Superb report once again! Thanks for sharing and getting the juices flowing. Be safe, Chris
  15. Fish on the rocks
  16. Superb!!! Look at that beautiful green water. Thanks for sharing, Chris
  17. WTG Matt - gotta love Bobby Fuller's stuff. Be safe my friend - great talking with you yesterday, Chris
  18. Superb report Captain. What I am most impressed with is your ability to catch beautiful kings one morning, yet dial in a brown trout program the very next day and fish the shallow water upon request of your clients. That's what separates the men from the boys. Also, your reports are always filled with great narrative, fishing tips, and never have a "cocky" attitude unlike a fellow amateur I-Bay angler that always seems to hi-jack other's posts with his own success........ Tight lines! Chris
  19. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=buf&zmx=1&zmy=1&map_x=189&map_y=133&x=190&y=133 Huh? I'm not seeing those temps? May be b/c I'm closer to the shore of the lake?
  20. I put a 60 watt trouble light in the engine compartment last night with my boat still on my trailer in my driveway. Low temp. overnight was 34 degrees - town of Ontario and trace water in my bilge was still liquid as of 6 AM. Nothing to worry about gents. Launching the vessel in the morning, should be windy and cold still...but at least the water level is up! Good luck to everyone - let's get rid of this cold. Chris
  21. Spectacular report!!! Sounds like you had the lake to yourself. Thanks for sharing, Chris
  22. Excellent work! Kudos to you for taking the time to post the comparison pictures. I wish the moderators could pin this post for future reference. Great job! Chris
