    As always - thank you for your time and dedication with your live reports. The same thing seems to happen every year, what we refer to as the so called "transition". If you want to keep a steady bite, my advice would be to abandon your historical king program and do one of three things: 1.) Fish off shore and try and find a school of steelhead feeding off some of those surface slicks we've seen lately. When you find one, you will find many 2.) Fish early and in tight for browns - and some dandies at that which are always there for the picking early 3.) Fish for lake trout - which are always there on the bottom no matter what It can turn a no fish or one-fish day into much more fun. Good luck, Chris

We fished a three man crew, with my great buddies Anthony and Barry and had a slow start to the morning with only a skippy king for the first three hours. We fished from 200 fow to 500 fow and marked a few things here and there but it was slow so we abandoned the silver fish program and motored back into 110-130 fow to fish for lake trout. We managed 6 fish in about an hour and a half to finish the day 7 for 7, and the highlight of the day was a 12.5# Laker and a 15.8# laker back to back. The 15 pounder that Anthony caught was good for the LOC leaderboard which made for a nice end to the morning. All lake trout were caught on Hammerhead cowbells with Spin n' Glows in chartreuse and the small king was on a 100' rigger pulling an NK 42 second spoon. Very hot out there today, but once again it was flat as a pancake. Good luck to all! Chris

    Awesome job - thanks for the video! Way to get some fish in tough conditions. You call that one in the video a skippy king? That looked pretty good sized to me!     On a personal note, I have run a set of Rivera boards, Canon boards and a homemade pair I made about 6 years ago using Bob's plans from this website. All three were junk in my opinion (my own pair sat too low in the water, the Canons and Riveras didn't pull right) so I bought a pair of Otters about 5 years ago. Yes, I have had to modify them with the second keel, but they run great and I have them out from April til September. They are tremendous. I did buy a factory blemish pair directly from Big Jon and to this day I have no idea what the blemish is. I cannot comment on Amish boards, but the website indicates that they pull hard and it's recommended to put your boat in neutral when retrieving them. Thus, the pros and cons of Amish vs. Otters: Amish cons: based on their website, you have to retrieve while in neutral as they pull like a mo fo Amish pros: cheaper than Otters, seem to be very well built Otter pros: wont flip, track great, good BJ customer service, can get blemish pairs cheaper Otter cons: need the extra keel for coppers and heavier lines, learning curve to get the top rope on the board just right, aren't collapsible Good luck - I have no professional or financial ties to either product.     Gotcha - no problem. I'm not sure any of the Trophy boats actually come stock with the pump - it might be an aftermarket install at the dealer. That being said, I've seen a few Bayliner/Trophy products with the similar pump as mine - a Flo-Jet/Jabsco Good luck, Chris

    No more than 8'. Since it has a fish eye lens, the Gopro makes everything look extremely longer than it really is in the background (take a look at some of the underwater footage of a salmon hitting a bait and you'll know what I mean - most of those shots make it look like the flasher is 20' from the camera but they're only a few feet). It also makes the boat look narrower and fish we catch look smaller when they're in the net. Thanks for the feedback! - Chris

    Dude, It looks like you have a Trophy like me - put the same one in as you had before. You will have the same rubber feet as the old pump, it's relatively cheap and an easy install in a relatively small space. Why overthink it? Good luck, Chris

    Mark is on the money, I've had to replace two of these bad boys in 6 years and once it was water corrosion inside the pump after a seal went and the second time the diaphragm went and it would barely push water. Both pumps were Flo-Jet/Jabsco. The first time was my fault after I removed it to winterize in the offseason and dropped it in the bilge and probably broke it somehow. I don't really understand how the diaphragm works compared with an impeller pump, but it was a flat piece of black plastic on the top portion of the pump with 4 or 5 small circle areas that seemed like it "oscillated" somehow at high speed to pump water. Replace the pump it's a very easy fix - good luck, Chris

    Here's the video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7Ponwb_c5M&feature=youtu.be I fished with my great buddies Anthony and Barry and we hit the water early around 5:15 AM, and started in 150 fow and fished until about 11:30 or so. We had a smaller fish bite early, but then decided to head offshore in search of a bigger class of fish. We fished mainly east of the bay and focused between 340-480 fow. There were multiple surface breaks and scum lines and a pass or two through each one seemed to produce fish. We finished the day 12 for 13, but didn't move a rod after 10:30 AM. We caught two Chinook, and the rest were steelhead and suspended lake trout. The biggest fish was a 12.5# Laker which would have been good for the LOC, but we didn't want to waste such a beautiful fish just for a few days on the board so we let her go to get bigger for somebody else to catch some day. The riggers were slower today, but still took a few fish between 45-85' down, we also had three nice rips on the wire Dipsies and the rest were one on 400' copper and the remainder on 5/7/10 color lead cores. I tried to use the Deep Torpedo Diver today as we were marking huge marks down 250-350', however it has to be the biggest PITA ever invented. It's essentially a Dipsy diver with a 12 ounce Cuda diver attached but the stupid thing tangled once with the deep rigger and then it was a tangled disaster on the retrieve on another attempt. If anyone is using these please let me know what I'm doing wrong, otherwise it's going up for sale. The following all caught fish today: Raspberry Dolphin Buffalo Bill spoon in SS and Standard sizes NBK on both the rigger and lead core White green dot Spin Dr/Hammer Fly on wire Carbon 14 standard on copper SSW on 10 color lead core Fuller Jalepeno spoon Good luck to all, Chris
