  1. Add a twilly tip and a large reel no need for a line counter, if your like most you will end up have at least 3 on board, 350,450& a 600 LOL$$$$$$$$$ got to love this game !!
  2. 600w or the 1kw willing to pay th extra if it's really worth it !
  3. 858c hummingbird combo
  4. Need opinions on whether the cost is worth the improvement, and if the 1 KW is also worth the cost . Thanks in advance Rollie
  5. found it thanks to splitshot it is the 21&22 of June, Owasco lake
  6. anyone know the dates for this derby?? signed up for it and never wrote it down !
  7. Getting pumped for my first derby of 2014 , good luck to all that are fishing Barney& bears spring derby! If any one is interested we are going to have a meeting of the minds after Sun. Weigh in. We will be going over the placement and the work schedule for the lift project. Anyone that is interested is encouraged to attend and offer there input. Today's weather isn't that good but it's better than this!!!
  8. Your right they are junk
  9. 21' arima with hard top and 115 four stoke,
  10. I used a small yellow bird inline and screwed it to the bottom of my otter boats, same angle as the factory , on the inside or boat side of the board. Worked very well for me and less $ .
  11. My experience has taught me that every make of spoon has a sweet spot, alpena diamonds will take fish at 1.4 mph but not at 3.2 mph were nk-28 's pound the fish , sutton lite. Will run and take fish even slower than alpena's. The same goes with stick baits, jointed runs different than non- jointed, spiney's run better at 2.8 than they do at 2.4 where the e- chip paddle shine. Just my thoughts so don't use any of this info. If your fishing the Barney spring dèrby!!!
  12. Blue Bubble will be there-south end- maybe north if there no fish at the drop!
  13. I did run copper off big boards with a Scottie pinch pad and a rubber band, had several break offs, started using TX-44 inline boards no more break offs
  14. Only had one tangle that I can remember, top rod fired 10 seconds later bottom rod fires , 20" landlock with both spoons hooked in its mouth!!! Cayuga lake during the Salvation Army derby.
  15. well guys and gals we are half way to the goal for donations!! thanks to one and all that have donated to this project. the foot print for the bolt pattern on the base has been sent to Lil Jake who has volunteered to do the concrete work on this project, thank you Mark for helping. the manufacturer has given me a completion date for the actual lift. I will post details for a work bee if anyone is interested in helping to place it. thank you to those that gave donations at the Watkins Glen flee market, may GOD richly bless one and all.. rollie

  18. Boat ran well , sea sense is awesome , riggers an planers worked, auto pilot gave me trouble ALL day , finally gave up and tried to catch a fish, no luck. Pulled rods and fiddled with AP , called service center twice , a Still not working! Put boat on trailer and headed home. Will continue to work on it in the barn,

  21. Ray marine has wires labeled IN , OUT, and ground, hummingbird wires are labeled COMM, DATA, and ground does anyone know what wire goes where, the more I study it the more confused I get. I think I'm a little gun shy !!! ( ruined a Lowrance unit several years ago )
  22. Bring an x-tra $ 20 for the M.P.L.P. I'll be set up at Reel Stories (nick) table. GOD bless. Rollie
  23. I suppose your right, I change the fuse to a 10 amp. Thank you for the heads up!!
  24. I pull modified otter boats (x-tra keel) with two long coppers , I have had to move everything in towards boat to avoid another boat running boards, never had the breaker trip. I do have them fused at the main panel with a 15 amp. Fuse . Redundancy is a good thing for getting back to port!!
  25. Dave from r&r tackle tell him Rollie said hi
