scott, will be on the lake wed. with the guy i buoght the boat from, if you would leave them on your table i'll pick them up before we head out.had a good catch day on sat. 3 very nice lakers, 22" landlock and a 18"brownie. the big lakers were 110' down over 300+ salmon and brown came out of 80' up before power plant. white/glow cracked ice spindoctor with proctologist. lots of small lakers in the 80' range so i moved out and had a ball with bigger fish. seemed to like the east/west or west/east troll the best. BLOW boats were all over and they were justa ****in on the radio. felt kinda nice to be a pain in there side for once.had to be me i was the only "pretty blue boat" out in that area.if you want a few bucks for them let me know or leave a bill on the table, and by the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!!!

maybe i'll lay them to rest with the "shark" weights that i threw overboard in Seneca, should have asked on here before i purchased them. what did you say about hindsight!!
-
please read on open lake forum as to the problems with new weights, need some help here!! thanks rollie
-
purchased a set of 13# pancake weights from Cabela's,ran them on cayuga lake today. WHAT A MESS they made after 20 min. one of them wants to wobble from side to side the other one wants to track out to the starboard side(this is the one i put out on the port) does anyone have a fix for these problems or should i send them back or melt them down? lake was dead calm at 5 am. so i don't think it was from any current.

i spooled 45# copper on a cabela's depth master reel (had no other use for it other than a paper weight) only could get 415 ft. hope this will reach bottom in the 80-90 ft. range, thanks Scott for showing me how to pull copper on the lake. when all else fails it will certainally fill the cooler!! NOW.. the question is how much 45# copper will go on a Penn 309LC??? went to Cayuga lake today 3 lakers and a landlock, several small ones. started late (7:30 ) ended early (10:30 ) no need to pull copper they all came on a kavorkian spin doctor and a uncle pinch fly. 69ft. down 80-90 ft. of water. 2-3 ft. off the ball. wire dipsy never fired, no takers on the free sliders.

IRWORKMAN, is the penn 309 a line counter/ level wind. the largest LC i can find is the daiwa 47LC. and i'm not sure if it will hold all 600 ft. right know i'm struggling with a penn that is not a level wind and it sucks trying to keep it from overlapping. thoughts would be appreciated GOD bless rollie

thanks to all that donated to our church and congrats to the rat on his win!! GOD bless rollie

scott, thank-you so much for a very enjoyable time. i really needed a day/morning on the water especially after the last atempt that i had. know here's the report..... fleas and grass are bad.... water temp is warm... waves were 1.5 to 2.0. .... nicest fish caught 7.4 lbs. brown somewhere on the otherside.. that's all till AFTER the derby!! GOD bless--rollie

just my experience, i have run cowbells hooked directly to the ball, but i took a scotty release and snapped to the trailing swivel on the bells, ran a spoon 2 to 6 feet behind. caught several lakers doing this, but flasher fly is alot easeir and and i have a better selection of colors to run. also have caught fish running a bare flasher off the ball with a spoon stacked 3 feet above.morel of the story... put it in there face and if there hungry they will bite.

the new paint has'nt seen the water yet,and it's l hard to fish in the middle of route 6, 18 wheelers don't know enough to go around the planner boards!!
-
decided last night(friday) that saturday would be a good day for a shakedown cruise with the new to me boat. started out with stopping at gas station and topping off the tanks, 125.00 later i'm on the road. i drive less than 300 ft. and notice a trailer wheel wobbling in the mirror. i pull over and find that i only finger tightened the lug nut after putting new bearings, racea and seals in the hubs. no damage, thank god. i start out again and the fist major pot hole i hit i see both of my bearing buddies go flying off the trailer, one even jumped the guard rail as it was trying to flee from the traffic! i travel on down the road trying to decide what to do about the dust caps that i no longer have and the Jeep starts to run rough. in the middle of Towanda it decides to quit, coast into a side street and try to start it. finally after several tries it starts to run, decide i better head back to the house. get back on main street it dies again. this time it will not start even after several tries.call a freind with a tow vehicle and drag the boat back home.call for a rollback and take Jeep to garage.time for a nap!!!!!

blow boats won't even look for otter boards, you can't expect them to understand what a flag is for, my vote- 7MM mag. just below water line-twice, rollie

Jax report Sandy creek 6/23 pm
final flight replied to Jax's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
not to be nosey, but how much is auto-pilot and how does it work--gps or magnetic north, pretty stupid questions huh!! but thanks anyway rollie -
scott, if you would please pick up two forms for me, my computer must be different than other because i don't see a icon for derbies???
-
does anyone know if there is a way to print off entry forms, hate to use the gas to run for two more entries. thanks and GOD bless rollie

was not sure if it would drain, this a live well/boat seat add-on. if this is the case then i will need a over flow/ stand pipe to keep water in the livewell. it only has one hole in the bottom center and i use a cork to plug and fill it with a bucket. i do have an areation pump to keep things swimming. i have a new project boat that is in the works so while the floor is being replaced i was hoping to pipe something up to get rid of the bucket!! also need some ideas on a low budget arch to hold lights and rod holders.....thanks rollie
-
if i reverse the polarity on the livewell pump(outside water) will it remove water from the livewell, or do i have to use valves and piping to acomplish the need. thanks to all that respond GOD bless----rollie
-
has anyone tried this ? if so what is the leader lenght? how tight to the ball / thanks--- rollie---
-
i might be interested if i knew what an observer did. if i am on the same boat, never really taked to any one that has done this, sounds like a great learning experiance. can you take notes and use the secrets?? do you stay with the crew all weekend 24-7, is there a quit time every day then off to motel?? do you drive the boat while others fish?? as you can tell i have nooo.. idea what this involves.

would like to chat about fishing the lake at alburn for eyes. can't remember how to get to launch. thanks.----- p.s. also misplaced your #, too many derby's in too short a time for a old fart like me to keep track of everything!!!! GOD bless rollie
-
ray, you did not mention Jason, thought he said he was fishing with you. saw a van with your name on it in the watkins marina parking lot, if you didn't launch there and lost your van start your search there!!! i fished with my kid (daughter) and had a ball until we lost both of our proctologist flys, one on a fish the other on the bottom fighting that same fish, i really wanted to cry but it probably would of spioled the image my girl has of me!! went 13 for 18 on sat. went 11 for 13 on sunday, got blown off the sundaygotta go jason just called-- rollie
