  1. Why in the world would they have thought they would find beer on the red dock??
  2. Congratulations to Tom for pulling off the premier event on the east end this season. It looks the the participation is a indication of an event that will have a great future. I think in a good economy this could be an 70 80 boat event. The conditions were indicative of Oswego, here one day, gone the next. fish that were in concentration in certain areas all week had vanished and were scattered. But for us there was one area where fish had been on friday, (our only pre fish day) and saturday they were still in the same general location, just a little deeper and a little east. We had to work an east west troll that was probably less than a half mile long, and we did that from 8:45 till 2. So after watching boats scattered, searching and running all over the place, we dared not leave those fish!! Most of our fish were taken between 9 and 12. My crew from the Red Dock at Wrights were (Double J) Jersey Jim, Frank( Home Office), Jim Sullivan (Lone Wolf) and the the best wheel man in the east Glenn (Sharky). Congrats again to Tom and Committee, and thanks to all the sponsors for their participation. And Congrats to Richie and the Praying Mantis crew for their win
  3. This is a subject for debate all the time, snubber, no snubber. the key is a reel with a good drag, then snubbers are not needed IMO. I use 30# wire 40# mono leader, not floro, to the attractor. when they are crashing a FF combo they are not exactly line shy. And I also keep the drag set as tight as possible with enough drag to keep the rod from breaking in half (better hook ups), then adjust it after the hook up. If I'm running spoons off the wire I will go down to 20# or more, depending on the class of fish.
  4. Happy Birthday Ray!!
  5. Welcome back... come here every day and keep absorbing info. /asking questions. You picked a good year to return, as the lake is giving it up big time. BTW thanks for the service to our country

  8. Well Andy, fortunately I have been exposed to some of the finer points of Chenango County etiquette as it pertains to deer hunting in Greene, so your point is well taken. Thanks to the Reid Family AKA Seasquirrel
  9. Which means he could adjust a carb while drinking a beer with one hand, while shooting a deer in a private cornfield at 50 mph out of his rusty f150 sometime after midnight with the other A Chenango County specialty

  12. Last week we had a brown take a spoon from a 3 color then he grabbed the 4 color on the same side immediately after the first. two rods, one fish, both spoons in the mouth. He gave up quickly lol...
  13. I wouldn't have admitted that
  14. The past weekend was stellar for alot of boats. More trout than you can keep, and a steady salmon bite. Good kings into the 30 plus pound range taken from 100 to 600 feet of water. Good luck. [ Post made via Android ]

  18. Don't do it G Daddy... He's gonna steal the custom spoon!!!!!
  19. I have used them on big kings in the past, you can do it and as stated , but you better have a good drag system. They will hold up, but a 30# plus shark will max them out. I use them for summer browns.
  20. I must be lucky..... been down to 150 with it and everywhere in between. Never lost the signal. im using the new brass antenna as well. Im running it with a D/R.
  21. Alright Ray, you caused enough trouble... Isn't it almost time you should be going to Florida??? See Ya!!!
  22. I kinda liked the temp where it was over the weekend... Took 9 Kings 5 to 18# on saturday am, 50 to 80 over 170 to 250 . Then sunday am 15 trout over 25 to 40 .. 3 n 4 color lead core were the hot rods, riggers were hot as well. Fishin Oswego made easy. better than finding 70 down 120 IMO ...Sat afternoon was SLOOOOW for me for sure in inside waters... Brian made the right move going off shore.
