  1. Being this thread is going to ****, who said those were good shallow water brown spoons?
  2. To get a drop ball down 120 140 you'll need 350'or more of wire out, plus it will constantly ride up off the bottom losing contact. I'm Def not interested in dragging a lifeless laker in from 350 out on the wire. 140 on mono is about my limit. Two riggers, one man on each, bouncing the weight, controlling the depth.
  3. Temp is over rated, especially pre spawn. mid to late August first two divers go out 100-130 until i know they are not there. fish the fish.....
  4. If you can, use Petite Hydrocote. A water based ablative paint that is,easy to apply as latex. No heavy smell, easy clean up. I use it and recommend it.
  5. Gambler just described how to bottom fish lakers, no other method needed. Pretty simple
  6. Slide diver light bites. 30' leader good brown tool
  7. I do the same. Run the probe high out of the way (10') bounce the other's if the bottom is sketchy. Most of the time I'm bouncing the probe with fingers crossed. Always have the spare probe handy tho.
  8. Torpedo 19 strand. Don't mess around
  9. So if your targeting lakers 120 ft down, you can be sure your maintaining 1 / 1.5 without a probe? (We are talking lake ontario I presume?)
  10. Why wouldn't you need it if your fishing browns or lakers?
  11. Had a group of 6 Jakes in the yard yesterday. Glad to see some life.
  12. If the boats in NJ and going to Buffalo, those are two areas that move boats often, in terms of transporters. I cant see it costing more than 1K? Im sure you priced it. Find a guy delivering to NJ from Buffalo,or Ohio, then he gets you on the return trip.
  13. Don't shy away from PP just because you will fish shallow. I switched to it years ago after a particular captain stated he increased his shallow water brown bite dramatically just by switching over. With your setup you can run 10# balls on 100#PP and be whisper quiet in shallow water.
  14. Put the PP on top of the cable, use a heavy swivel to connect the two. 200ft is plenty. when the fleas get bad you can take it off, or if you simply dont like it, its an easy transition back to cable. I like the PP, but the fleas become a pain and a mess.
  15. Try the torpedo 19 strand also. practically kink resistant. 7 strand is also good.
  16. The Evil Alewife Is worth 40 by itself. Lol
  17. yup^^^^^ they are exceptional under a heavy load, as in an angry king! For the money they are hard to beat.
  18. Northwoods is sold out of the X4 w/depth @ 649.... the latest X4D bluetooth model is $799 like everywhere else
  19. Torpedo, 7 or 19 strand
  20. There Was A Navionics "Fishin Chip" available a number of years back. It came with the purchase of the gold card. If you can update the gold card with that chart, it's all you will ever need.

Sold / Closed bayliner trophy 2860

Hey Nick do you know which model they have in a 33?
  22. So I spoke to Matt @ Torpedo and he was receptive to my concerns about the cable. He checked with a few pro staffers and confirmed there was at least one confirmation on the twisting. One staffer believed it was the lack of a quality bb swivel above the probe, which may spin in current or on retrieval or decent. Just passing along the info. At the very least Matt stood by his product, and demonstrated excellent customer service, and will continue to try to correct any issues with his cable.
  23. ??? Not sure. But I don't use a ball.
  24. Yup same story here, no clue either.
