Did anyone ever have a problem with the stainless steel antenna cable "twisting" on your scotty rigger? The kind of twist similar to mono twisting from not using a swivel. I have used it since it was introduced with no issues, then last year it happened twice. I know someone else who it also happened to with a cannon rigger.
Anyone?
thanks for the info,,,, but I know how to get deep kings, my question was how did he accomplish that with braid, wire yes but I dont think it can be done with braid. And yes I clean fleas constantly like everyone else, but the statement was he "never" gets fleas on braid? Another has scratcher?
So I guess I have two questions, what do you do to reach kings down 120, 140 or more with braid, and what brand do you use that repels fleas? I have 150# PP on my riggers and it's a flea disaster by mid summer.
I have a Furuno mounting bracket for a 585 $50 used good condition
A 50' Marinco telephone cord set new in box $50
Marinco dockside y power adapter 50amp to 30/30 amp. Used $90
Oswego has the convenience of everything you need almost within walking distance to the marina. Gas, food ,hardware etc. Wrights landing has water, electric, cable showers, and fish cleanin for 1500 per season, any size boat. My second home.
The only way to avoid this is to get a sweet deal on the boat in the first place, where the cost and rigging is less than what you could sell it for when your done. Otherwise is a losing proposition.
You could still get the bottom hugging LT in the usual spots, but there seems to be a percentage that dont follow the playbook. You could have caught a LT at any place at any given time when NOT targeting them.
Dan, I do the same with a couple wire slide divers and add about 40ft of mono. The connection would be an Albright knot for me, and a small clear bead at the leader and have had good results.
Iceman, I don't troll at 25 either, but the discussion revolves around a thru hull ducer. so an advantage is its forward placement which allows clean water to flow over it thus maintaining a clear picture. Searching for bait n fish under power is somewhat helpful. And no fairing block needed for the b60, its flush mounted.
