  1. Great job Sean! Thanks for the pictures of the doubles, pretty impressive stuff!
  2. Billy, nice fish & pix. Were you trolling against a lot of current or just trolling fast? I couldn't help but notice the GPS speed was 3.4 on the screen.
  3. Thanks for the bunk replacement advice, can you substitute a Saranac Black & Tan for the IPA w/ similar results?
  4. Hank at L&M is finishing up a Simrad installation in my Starcraft Islander and I am sure he could convince you that if you think from the beginning you don't have room, you may want to go w/ the Raymarine. I do think that the Simrad is a better unit but it just takes up a lot more room that might require extensive modifications to the helm, etc. Hind sight is often 20-20!
  5. Just trying to get some background info on the issues surrounding putting a 4 stroke kicker on a Starcraft Islander. Do you need to use a long shaft or will a short shaft work? I would want to be able to link the kicker to my mercruiser out drive( I have an auto pilot).
  6. I bought this boat last year. It's not for sale.
  7. Nice work on those special spoons Ray! Maybe they will be the lucky ones.Speaking of luck; I just found out I have the winning ticket for a new Mathews Drenalin bow at the club raffle, hopefully I can bring it with me to the boat!(the luck, not the bow) See you at 6:00 on thurs am.
  8. On 4/24 I saw 39.5-40 surface@ AES in 100-150 FOW. Lakers were schooled up, we doubled up three times each time we made a pass through one single way point, all on flasher/fly @2.3 SOG.
  9. Split, if people are up for a bite after the weigh in I am willing to help w/ BBQ, pm me w/ your concept.
  10. Could anybody hazard a guess as to how long the guides on a pair of 7' Taloras w/ twilis will last running 30# malin wire? If I use these rods w/ mag dipsies 1-2 days a week will the guides and or the wire last the season?
  11. Fish Magnet, thanks for the pics, nice box of tasty size browns!
  12. 2 Okuma 8'6" Blue Diamond Wire Dipsy Rods $50/pair excellent shape, PM me.(you pay shipping) SOLD/ pending
  13. I am scrapping my plan to haul my boat out to "The Bar". Farm & family stuff preclude being able to make a 3-4 day event out of it. I would like to go out 1 day w/ anybody who might have an empty seat, I have lots of family around to stay with and a Canadian temp for the 1-8, always willing to share expenses. PM me.-Andy
  14. Launched at Meyers, crossed & ran stix around S.end on inlines and the Otters, we got temps as high as 44 in the color. 0 hits on blk/slver stix. Ran back up & around the creek at Meyers, not much color but temps to 43.5, 0 hits. Zipped up to the plant to try my 7' wire Mag Slide Diver creations, and I am very happy w/ them, doubled up 3x so I feel like I gave em a good trial at the boat where they really shined! The browns don't seem to be on feed in the shallows yet, couldn't find anybody who found much action in that department so far this year.
  15. Way to go, thanks for the video!
  16. Launched out of N.Point ,whacked a bunch of lakers on the west side in 140-180' got em on wire out 220-240 and riggers down 90-105. Buzzed down to T-Falls,got out the boards & stix- got one really nice brown on a rainbow pattern rapala, which we promptly released, we worked over some sort of colored water south of there pretty hard but no further action. Finished up the box for the smoker around AES in 115, riggers at 90 & wire at 180-220. We marked a lot of bait w/ promising thick hooks at 40-50 in 120-130 FOW around the plant and we worked it w/ spoons off the riggers but whatever they were they didn't buy the program. One weird thing today was a lot of short strikes and lost fish which I kind of lumped together, not sure what to make of that. We wound up at 7 for 12 for the day.
  17. Hmm.... Doesn't sound too promising, but thanks for the reports. We left the islander w/ Hank on friday so we got the 16', and we'll probably go out on the big O when we go back up to get the "bigger" boat- so despite the glum prospects I will give Cayuga a try today anyway (can't be worse than sticking around here all day!)
  18. Anybody go out today? Planning to go out tomorrow, maybe try the south end for a bit if the planer bite is starting to happen, would appreciate any current info- haven't actually fished since 3/28. PMs are fine.
  19. Ray's posts explain why you guy's all looked liked you had been sleeping in the dog pen! Sorry to have missed out on all the action (browns and otherwise). Don't barf on my boat & make sure Hank works on it all weekend - good luck and have a happy hangover!
  20. Thanks for the input; sounds like another "new idea" is going to bite the dust!
  21. Smoke a box full of lakers, save a salmon!
  22. Got a few of these the other day & I have some questions 1. Anybody had much success w/ these things?( I am kinda intrigued w/ the Goby pattern.) 2. What leader lengths have worked for what species and are there seasonal variations? 3. I noticed that you can actually unscrew the eye assembly from the body and hook of the fly. This seems like it could lead to trouble w/ a rampaging King. Any problems w/ this?
  23. Got to Meyers yesterday(4/11) about 1:00, 15-20 mph N wind, spray from the waves was coming over the break wall, made a short loop - too rough for a 16', maybe just too rough period!
  24. If it's raining we will be there, otherwise that's our 1st cutting hay window for peak quality. I used to be miserable and hate it when it rained during a harvest window but now I just go fishing. Sure is more comfortable now w/ the full enclosure and the cuddy!
