  10. WTG! Couldn't fit in the youth hunt but looking forward to the season w/ my 3 boys-nice going!! -Andy
  11. Haven't had much of an early season here or up at the farm we hunt in Earlville, but we have spent a bunch of time shooting clays under different, higher patterns & have come to the sobering conclusion that, as usual, the 'nut behind the stock' is far more critical than chokes or loads. Some more prospects should emerge over the next week as my buddies w/the custom chopping business get going in Brisben. I'll give you a call or give me a shout if something looks promising.,-Andy
  12. DDW & what trouthunter said! Also very important to plan routes to stands- mature bucks and dominant does are very careful to not travel towards the direction human tracks are heading ( yeah they don't take much time to figure this out) no matter how careful you are with boots, etc. WTs scent glands are keenest when humidity is high -so plan accordingly.
  13. Ok we shot 3"Fed speed shok, BC FS Steel, and Kent Fasteel through our i-drive Stoegers w/ both the factory mod choke and a Carlson mod choke at 10" circles from 30 yds. Patterns were acceptable w/ all 3 loads with the factory choke and poor with the Carlson.-Andy
  14. Good going Chris! Sounds like a great day. Hopefully we can get some perchin in this fall. -Andy
  15. Great report & pics! The 6" ITO flies were hot for us too.

  18. Great post Pete! Add the rest of the family's priorities into the mix and it's a wonder we get any actual fishing done at all! -Andy
  19. My 2008 Minnkota bow mount growls when in the water and has no torque at all. Brand new battery-anybody had good results getting these repaired and if so where? Thanx!
  20. Started out jigging around the plant with just a couple fish to show for our work and switched over to trolling west side to avoid weeds. Our wires were dead but got into some lakers with a jointed rapala on 12 colors and a few on lime green SS spoons parked at 90' from 90-200 FOW. Picked up some nice bows on orange cheaters near the Boy Scout Camp. Temp was down over 80' everywhere we were. We were planning to check out the afternoon bite but after grilling a pile of smoked, stuffed pork loin, Cuban style sandwichs at T-Falls I took a nap and then we spent the afternoon tubing, -Andy

Pete- there are certain provisions for shooting out of a F-150 in Chenango County, they go along with the special 'extended' late season regs. A number of us in the Greene, McDonough area are grandfathered into these little known clauses of State Game Law and it would be downright disrespectful not to adhere to them!
  22. Outstanding effort! Hats off to Nick and Theresa and all those who attended to all the many details and most of all to the guests of honor who were just a great bunch of guys to talk and fish with. Nice job Capt Coup & thanks for the invite,I'll crew for you any time! -Andy
