  1. My 15 year old son brought in a violent, nasty 35lb King during last fall's LOC and that fish will be our first one on the wall. It was the least I could do for not getting registered!
  2. Sounds like a good shakedown! Buckboard, I believe that's a Great Lake's Planer setup http://www.greatlakesplaners.com/
  3. A couple of fish dinners in the box and a gorgeous day on the water with friends-sounds pretty good to me!-Andy
  4. Nice pics Ray! Looks like an awesome way to spend the winter.-Andy
  5. We went to LP to launch but it looked like it was going to be too far down to get in the boat so we headed to Myers. We did wind up running up that way to fish and I could see trailers in the parking lot so evidently it's not impossible to launch there.
  6. I'm still in 'winter fishing' mode Scott, so we launched our 165 Alumacraft at Myers. Here's a couple observations I will share about launching at Myers yesterday; 1.Use the western most slot. 2. Keep your motor trimmed up and don't back up very far into the marina b4 turning to port to head out. 3.Stay trimmed up heading out, keep a sharp eye and stay more towards the wall. When you are coming in stay to port and just turn sharp at the dock, reverse a little and then ahead to tie up.-Andy
  7. Nice job Pete!
  8. Well, you can launch at Myers now. My son Elliot and I trolled the west side around T-Falls doing the boards thing in the fog and got a bunch of small LLs and BTs on everything we towed. Moved out to 60 to 100 FOW and got 1 decent salmon on a 4 color and a few lakers off the bottom.Time to head up to LO! -Andy
  9. Might try & fish out of LP this morning & see what's going on up north- will you let you know.
  10. Thanks for the post Bill. I'm thinking I'll launch out of Myers tomorrow! -Andy
  11. Good to see you got out Chris and thanks for the report.
  12. You can get 6 colors on a 47 w/ a pretty good shot of power pro backing but that is it.
  13. Had an enjoyable time on Seneca today. Trolled north and south from the plant to Glenora, and eventually accumulated a decent mix bag of lakers ,browns, and lls. Action was slow and spotty overall for us. Took silvers on blk/slvr stix and colored spoons on 2,4 and 6 colors off inlines. Lakers all came on the wires pulling ff combos. We caught fish from 10'-130 down over 80-240 FOW. -Andy
  14. Nice fish! Thanks for the report guys.
  15. Hang 10 for me Pete!
  16. Check with Muskybob on here. Besides his renowned Goby Guide service I understand he has some excellent Adirondack Goby recipes up his sleeve too. Any chance a guy could get one of those "Musky's Goby Guide Service" shirts?
  17. I wound up doing other stuff w/ my family, did anybody else go out?
  18. Anybody else thinking about Seneca tomorrow? Pretty nasty out now but it doesn't sound too bad for tomorrow.
  19. Andy, how is that thing in the wind. Wouldn't it act as a sail with the back open? Like any small aluminum boat it can be challenging to keep it on a heading when trolling into the wind using the AP. When I'm winter fishing I keep the drop curtain down & unzipped on one side, so there is no wind coming into the wheel house even when trolling down wind.
  20. Hope you had a good one Glen! -Andy
  21. Good going guys! Was hoping for a shot on Sat but not looking real good right now SATURDAY WEST GALES TO 35 KNOTS BECOMING NORTHWEST TO 30 KNOTS IN THE AFTERNOON. SNOW SHOWERS. WAVES 10 TO 13 FEET.
  22. I'll try n' check out the Village launch in Watkins tomorrow.
  23. mud chickens are highly underrated as food sources go! Good baked and fried all winter long and grilled w/ Mojito sauce in the summer (and let's not forget some smoked fillets and sour cream w/ beer out on on the pool deck) -Andy
