  1. I don't see any bass in the sled. Bass season is closed.
  2. Welcome to the LOU, nice pic of the mac attack!
  3. I thought they looked good too and started a very small order but when I got to the shipping I said to myself forget this!
  4. I painted some bare lead weights last summer w/ the rubberized black spray paint and a fair amount of the paint has rubbed & chipped off. Is there a better way to coat weights, some procedure that will resemble the heavy duty finish that the commercial weights have? What kind of results do you get w/ regular flat black spray paint?
  5. (2) Pancake rigger weights excellent shape http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... 23&Go.x=14 $30/pair + shipping
  6. (2) 12 lb directional weights excellent shape. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... m23&Go.x=9 $30/pair +shipping
  7. I think Ray is in charge of milking the chicken. That's what he told me the last time I was real busy and needed some help around here so I could go fishing.
  8. At some point I am going to have to get a travel cover made for my 165 Alumacraft. Anybody had one made lately around here for this size boat? Price? -Thanks
  9. Raider, the rigger weights will make a line across the screen. If you don't see the lines created by the weights you are either running light weights and getting a lot of blow back or more likely you have a sonar unit which is just not designed for high demand trolling applications.
  10. Tuna Tom's 231-843-4557 (Ludington) He will service them & put the Penn drags in those reels, they are awesome!
  11. My apologies to those who attempted to contact me & get in on the adventure, I became embroiled in a combination bovine obstetrical/electro-mechanical crisis as the the window for anything resembling a reasonable departure time was rapidly closing (as a result I never got back to the computer). With a fishing trip as motivation though, the issues were dealt w/ and my trusty 80 year old neighbor and I set off. We found the Severne launch site to be easy to find and open and free of any ice. Caught up w/ Jason on the cell and hear "we're killing em in the south end". Oh well it was 20 miles down there so we took Jason's advice and just headed south hunting around where we were and wound up eventually whacking em pretty good up there too. LLs liked the Carmel dolphin flasher/fly on the 300' copper, lakers liked spinny/fly combos tight to the ball down 105-120 over 100-150' . I didn't get much going w/ spoons today. P.S. sfarm, I work about 80-100 hrs/week, started this morning at 2:30 am so I could go fishing today so don't feel too bad, my life sucks in a big way much of the time!
  12. The cabin fever is setting in, spending too much time looking at fishing gear on the internet that I don't need- so if the wind lets up a bit I'm gonna try blow out of here & head over to Seneca and at least see some different scenery. Maybe I will find this "open" launch down at Watkins or maybe I'll cruise up to Severn. Anybody rattling around w/ nothing to do is welcome to contact me & help shape this outing. If this works out I won't be over there till late morning/mid day. -Andy
  13. (3) no.88 (2) no.35 (2) no.22 All brand new, single fixed hook w/ brass ring & swivel selling as one lot - make me an offer
  14. Hate to burst the bubble but a Penn 309 isn't going to hold much that much copper. With a minimal amount of backing I'm guessing 200' or so? You might be better off using those reels for 10-15 colors if you are looking to get down past 40'. Lead core has a lot to offer too, especially for running spoons! All the same stuff about boards vs. the chute applies to core too!
  15. You probably don't want to run two coppers down the chute off the arch. There's eventually going to be a heck of a mess back there. I would suggest either running one down the chute or run 2 either off inlines(up to 300' copper) or big boards. Go see Sean, he'll get you squared away! -Andy
  16. If you trust your boat for winter steel hunting on the Niagara it is all set for winter trolling the Fingers. I have 165 Alumacraft w/ 40 hp 4 stroke & T8 kicker and it's plenty of boat for either of those jobs.
  17. Best choice for coated rigger cable? Can you run the Moore coated cable w/ Depth Raider probe & display?
  18. I would post it on archery talk and let time work for you- much much bigger market than you are being exposed to w/ the local shop.
  19. That ice looks a little thin!
  20. Crepes with jalapeno venison breakfast sausage and curried hash browns! Now that's my idea of breakfast!
  21. Check the intake line and pump for the livewell. I've seen a number of boats have problems in that department in winter or first time out in the spring.
  22. Some guy once told me that if you go fishing and you don't break or lose something then you didn't fish hard enough. Of course I'm not sure the guy meant breaking your truck or losing your boat
  23. Sounds like a great day! So what did you guys get into; lakers, a mixed bag or what? Also I'm w/ Jeff nothing wrong w/ the Williams. I like D3 flutter spoon it's got great action. The blue & silver works good for bt. P.S. Never mind the truck! Trucks are for work and for pulling boats, now fishing - that's important!
  24. I'm afraid that's what I was trying to warn people about the other day. It really needs to be above 30 for a string of days in a row just to have room to get out of there.
