  1. Blacks also. Must change them every year. A few years ago I had one wear and break at the bottom curve and lost a 14 lb weight. Good thing it wasn't on the probe side. Chamberlain has a good stacker I use. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. I am assuming it has a hydraulicly actuated rudder for steering. If it does there is an interesting way to hook up an autopilot that runs both the main steering and the kicker. I had a setup on a 27 single inboard. I ran a steering cable from the rudder arm around to the steering tube on a T9.9 Yamaha. The kicker was turned by the rudder so any autopilot ( mine was a Raymarine) that turned the rudder arm Cylinder would also turn the kicker. Worked great. The steering cable had a special end to hook a rod end bearing to the rudder. Got it at Salmon Country in Mexico. Was about 200 $ for the cable. If I had to do it over again I would modify a standard cable on the drive end and save 150 bucks. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. I have a Sea Nymph GLS 175 with a Yamaha F70LA. Put it on in 2014. Set up on a nema 2000 network to a Lowrance hds gen 2 touch. All functions are viewed on the Lowrance. It gets 8+ mpg at most efficient rpm and does about 26 mph there. Troll all day on a gallon of gas. Hooked up a VTS and will adjust from 600 to 1000 rpm in 50 rpm increments. My neighbor put a new Yamaha 90 VMax on GLS195 last year. Acceleration out of the hole on that is amazing. Would recommend that on a 195. Note the Lowrance screen touching 8mpg at 4200 rpm and 26 mph Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Those ends are simply made of airline fittings. You may be able to replace the Male and female connections with the same ones available at hardware stores or Harbor Freight. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Looks like he jumped in the boat for the beer. Thanks for the tip. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. I have a 93 GLS with an alum floor. The cover over the gas tank however is wood. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Recently had an uncle pass away. He collected old rods and reels among other things. Had many old Pfluger casting reels. These have some sort of pre monofilament cotton or dacron line on them and are about half the size of a 27 series reel. Also a few old spinning reels like the Record half bail shown. Just wondering what they may be worth. Any comments appreciated Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. I am about to try a unusual Lowrance idea. I have a Lowrance Hds7 gen 2 touch. I bought the hydraulic autopilot last year but to install on an outboard. I never installed it and l am planning to sell the boat since I went bigger. The new boat is an I/O with a mercruiser alpha 1 gen 2 out drive. I plan to install a machine type hydraulic cylinder to the out drive steering arm. The cyl will be about $100. It will be controlled by the Lowrance pump /controller. It will need a bypass valve to be engaged when the autopilot is off otherwise the cylinder will lock up. I will let you know how it works in the spring. 9. New price $150 obo. Hate to throw it out, has many good parts Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. I previously had a few omc cobra engines. Used car parts often EXCEPT do not use car head gaskets. Marine head gaskets are Stainless Steel. Car head gaskets don't last well in a non closed cooling situation, especially in salt water Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. As for anodes, magnesium is recommended for freshwater. Zinc is for salt water, alum is for brackish water. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. If you decide to sell equipment separately I would be interested in the Terrova. I was planning to look seriously at that model in the spring. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Dave. Selling parts from my previous boat! For any potential buyers, these are made from 90 mm x 90 mm Bosch alum structural tubing. 3.53 x 3.53 in. You can hook on things in the slots covered by the black plastic inserts by sliding a nut in the slot. The end plates are clear anodized 3/8 thick alum . They were made by a shop that produces custom designed equipment. Dave, Good luck with the sale. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Mistake, not 82 but 72 Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. I was considering a 80 lb. 60 in. From all my searches I have never seen a 54 in Terrova with I pilot. Just 45, 60 and 82. Are you sure about the 54 shaft? How old is it ? Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
