Great job. What do you mean closed due to over capacity? -
Very cool to see those in the stores outside the local area you've come a long way in one short year, from early tweaking and tuning, to a great bait...and not just a knockoff of someone elses design either, like a lot of others. those baits are truly something to be proud of. I tell ya, at only $25 a pop, they are a GREAT deal and will go quick! Personally, I think the time is right for another auction, but I'm not sure why we need Stan and others...your spray jobs are top notch. Can't tell ya how many times I've heard the comments that those are too nice to go in the water...now THAT'S the mark of a good lure.

can't get Navionics 'fishing chip' to run in Global Map 5200
NitroMusky replied to chowder's topic in This Old Boat
I don't know the ins and outs of the lowrance units but I do know that some (all?) of the navionics cards have different versions for use on different brand gps. Hate to open this can of worms but are you certain you have the version that is compatible with your unit? I would confirm this first, if you haven't already. -
Im not in favor of this any more than the next guy but c'mon, driving around in circles engaged in a regulated activity (trolling) is certainly not the same as being in transit in a straight line between two points in the US that happen to have Canadian territory in between them.
-
the rate of those lines will change with rpms...If it doesn't bother you, don't worry about it...if it does, try separating the ff wires, including transducer wire away from the rest of the boats wiring. Keep ducer wire separate from all other wiring. Make sure the ff is wired directly to the battery, not your fusebox or spiced in somewhere.

'treating' ethanol gas doesn't prevent the damage to parts that are not ethanol compliant, it simply prevent phase separation, which is where the gas separates in to it's components (separate layers of gasoline and Ethanol-along with any water it's absorbed). Older motors still need to be brought into compliance for ethanol standards.
-
Make sure you consider the transducer wire routing. It needs to be separate from the rest of your electrical wiring or you will get induction issues which will also cause your complaint. If that doesn't help, call humminbird. They are extremely helpful with this stuff. Common problem. They have some kits for this type of thing, like an RF choke. Will send you the right one, at no cost I believe, if need be.

The diagonal line is electrical interference. Did you have your motor running at the time? That has been known to do it.

Kingston/South Eastern Ontario Musky waters?
NitroMusky replied to Ronix 51's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I'm sure there must be some lakes nearby that do, but the only ones I hear about are the trophy waters of the ottawa river, rideau ( which feeds into is) and the nearby laurentian lakes, but that whole area is still a few hours drive from Kingston. At that time of year, that part of the Larry probably doesn't hold too many fish I don't believe. I think they are pretty much out in the lake, not some come into the river for another month or so -

Canadians still mum on controversial St. Lawrence River border enforcement issue http://blog.syracuse.com/outdoors/2011/06/no_word_yet_on_how_the_canadia.html "This has been elevated quite high politically, and we're still waiting," said a spokesman from the Canadian Border Service Agency this afternoon. Waiting for whom? Our state dept?

Glad you found it however you didn't say whether you replaced the hoses and bulb. If not you will be faced with the problem again. Being a carb motor, it is clearly pre-ethanol vintage. The enthanol attacked them and will continue to do so- even with fuel stabilizer ( this just prevents phase separation). You need to have ethanol compliant hoses and bulb.

Has anyone found a link for the statement that was supposed to be released??? Nope, apparently hasn't been released yet...And based on Rod's unfortunate incident, it seems to be a generally more vigilant approach to enforcement along the border, not a rogue agent. Them collecting money without spelling out exactly what to do and how to do it is BS...issue the statement already!!! Quit holding people hostage!

Who's gonna win the Muskie tournament???
NitroMusky replied to NitroMusky's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Can't say any of us lit it up out there...if I'm correct our collective fish count can be measured on no hands. Yikes! I guess there is some consolation in knowing that even previous tough bite tournaments turn out more registered fish than this one...by a longshot- and I think this one had the most entrants thus far as well. Tough bite indeed! ...and miserably cold and wet conditions. THE FISH WON! Blueye, you were on the right track with the theory of beginners luck...at least ronix hooked into one during the tournament. All I did was wash lures all day. The dinner was fun though...good to see all of you. Here's to a better showing on sept 10th -
