good luck dude! I want to hear about you slammin a piggie on the jig. BTW- what kinds of muskie jigs you talking exactly?
-
FB, you and I must be catching the same fish. I've had quite a few smaller ones...this year in particular. I think you're on the right track with upsizing your offering. I've caught perch with 'small' musky baits before, and they are always jacks. Same concept here.

fishbear, my experience with the silvers has been similar to yours...a few big-er ones here and there - big enough to activate the clicker - but I don't think any quite a foot long so far. [ Post made via Windows Smartphone ]

I thought it was "Bass is for guys that cant catch salmon...salmon is for guys that can't catch walleyes". . Anyone want to go bass fishing with me?

i won't mention my thoughts on this...lord knows this bill could end up going down the rabbit hole with amendments, exclusions and debate. lets get the darned thing passed already! [ Post made via Windows Smartphone ]

Chautauqua Tourney Lure Raffle Table
NitroMusky replied to mostlymuskies's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Good call...i was thinking, what's to stop those who don't want to reveal info from just taking it a step further to claim a prize...and spread disinformation at the same time -
I see you got the website to allow the full site on safari browsers now I dont have to remember all the emoticon code on my iPad and can see all the ads too The new mobile version is a great improvement as well...i like the added details that now appear for each user, just like the full version. just haven't figured out how to tell which topics are pinned...All look the same at a glance. Overall, great improvement!

Nice job on that first place finish up in Canada or where ever you were Mike, which hat were you wearing that day... fishing captain or cruise director? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

Wow that is a disheartening story Sean. Sorry to hear about the issue you had with the motor failure and the fact that yamaha added insult to injury. Regardless of the fine print, companies should be ethical, fair and reasonable. Add me to the list of those who will NOT be considering yamaha on my next purchase Viral marketing, or in this case viral grassroots campaigns CAN have an effect. Nice to have the power back in the consumers hands. Be sure to post a link to this not only on iboats and the hull truth but all the fishing forums. I am so irritated to hear about this. Let the groundswell begin. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

Owasco lake Pike Action
NitroMusky replied to ryanrobb52's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
sounds like you both had a good time together. WTG always nice to get out there and have quality family time, and even better when the fish cooperate so that the fishing time exceeds the travel time. the attention span can make for some short adventures otherwise [ Post made via Mobile Device ] -

Anyone have a report on the St Larry??
NitroMusky replied to Curt7234's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I'm just telling you what the laws are...i dont pretend to know the nuances of how they enforce or how well they enforce them. People speed on the highways all the time too. How many of them get tickets or are even stopped when they zoom by a cop? people fish for pike with crank baits all the time...in season June. Nothing wrong with that. Now if you had had a 16oz mag bull dawg hanging off your line, you would most probably be relating quite a different story right now though. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] -

NitroMusky replied to Curt7234's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I'm positive. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/31423.html In fact you reminded me...looks like you're fishing the thousand islands area...bass are closed season in jefferson county on the Larry until June 18 as well. No catch and release season there. Stupid rule, I know. If you are unclear in reading the bass regs in the link...trust me I have called the DEC in Jeff cnty...confirmed. Anyone have a report on the St Larry??
NitroMusky replied to Curt7234's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Yeah i know, been trying to make my way to PA here soon for that very reason. There are catch and release seasons for some fish, but closed means you cannot legally target a species. You are correct that muskies here open June 18. Can't say what was up with the dude and the spoon...might have been targeting pike and got an accidental 'skee. If he did the rule is to release in the water if possible, no undue time out of water (harm) otherwise. If the dude did pose for a pic with it out of season then he would technically be breaking the law. -
2010 DEC stocked waters list now available
NitroMusky replied to NitroMusky's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
RE-introduced. They were native historically in the area there. Think stocking has been going for a few years to decade in the watershed...not sure about chaut specifically. If anyone does catch one it's by accident...they are filter feeders living on microorganisms. Closed season too, if not even more stringent regs. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] -

2012 Proposed Musky Reg Changes
NitroMusky replied to NitroMusky's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
This list is actually those changes that the DEC is CONSIDERING whether or not to even propose. Therefore public comment period is critical in determining what they continue to carry forward as a full proposal. We all need to send emails for EACH regulation we are in favor of...that means each county regulation needs a separate email from US, even if it's for the same body of water Links for emailing on each potential proposal can be found here: http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/73762.html [ Post made via Mobile Device ] -
