  2. I'm in +1 its been on my calendar since the moment you announced it at the last one! payment coming what up with the fry loss??? that sucks. is that a new development? I heard you say there was an issue with birds at the tourney but it didn't sound like the young of the year was a total loss. what's changed thats causing this now but not past years? 3. wow thats awesome zach! that 'particular body of water' had been very good to you the past two years ;)i think you've conquered it now. btw -the smile on your face is priceless. oh and I don't know what you're talking about with this fathers fishing schedule...once every two weeks my a$$...I want your schedule! 4. thanks. I'm just down shore from poppy and it looks pretty fishy from the map...just a long walk out from the road to the point. I will try to make my way out there but will have to make due with the tackle i have...brought the old med duty spinning reel and just a few spoons and rapalas. don't wan't to ruin my good gear with salt and sand. probably scope it out during the day and try it tomorrow eve. thanks [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  5. good report! I'm down here in Mashpee right now and wondering about the stripers. anywhere you know of that you can target them from shore or is it boat only? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  6. I've also seen some diving cranks pulled slowly in the 20 ft range bring up some nice pike too [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  7. if you run spinnerbaits deep or use a drop shot rig ya got a good shot at some smallies [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  8. thats a nice deal...wish i could handle that big a unit on my boat. the quadra beam is pretty sweet too...i love mine. that ducer can be epoxied in hull too. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  9. the very south end near the inlet...no docks to contend with. try the weed edges and the deeper water just beyond it. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  10. ??? c'mon theres a story behind that fish waiting to be told! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  11. yeah seeing that beaut makes me realize I gotta get back out there with the rod in hand. haven't been since the opener and vacation on the cape coming so no fishing for a few more weeks... speaking of, I'm sure you must be itching to get your 'golden lure' back from me by now...I leave saturday...lmk [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  12. nice pike. good to see some decent sized ones in there. i was thinking the same about the jaw spreaders. mine saw their first use last weekend...trolling hits don't seem to be as deep a bite usually. where were you fishing most- north or south end? pic looks like just south of the east side campground... congrats. 19. the state ditch...really? do tell...any details or advice? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  20. I have to say zach that I was thinking the same as you...sure explains why its such a different fishery than chaut...lots of 40s there but few at waneta. I'm holding out for the DEC giving us a variety, like a river/ lake system. seneca river system sounds good to me! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  21. I have to say that when I first read your post that i thought you must be smoking something other than cigs but that article is pretty compelling. thanks for sharing this. I had been looking for some real info on tigers. I think this gives me a good reason and excuse to get some use out of my purchase on Cross and learn the lake a bit better this summer. good call! 22. I'm just messin around. its safe and sound in an old lure package awaiting its return. thanks again, nice lure though I'm surprised by how subtle the thump is. by the looks of it i was expecting more [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  23. so is that what the lure I contributed to the muskie gods was???
  24. firetiger for me as well...go figure. Bob- what'd I tell ya??? 5-6am between sunrise and moon set! boy you nailed the timing on that smack dab in the middle. with the results from last week and this, I'm a believer in those peak periods of activity. Zach, had an interesting conversation with a local (who had been spying on me with his telescope ) he came out after my second fish and we got to talking...he was saying if you show up at the bar at the south end and tell em you released one, they'll run you out. apparently a lot of the locals blame the muskies for bringing down the populations of other species, (which in my opinion is more related to the large scale weed kill a couple years ago, which left the young of year with no where to hide and open to all species: bass, pickerel and muskies). also heard another couple joking to themselves while I was reviving my first one...something like if I didn't want the fish they would gladly take it . speaks volumes about whether the locals would likely care about targeting them in the high temps. an aside on that- KY and IN get hotter than we do, they are lower latitude and temps get warm even deep, I suspect that the deeper water in wantea stays more reasonable, so as long as you can get them to swim down it doesn't seem like it would be an issue. just make it a quick, in-the-water release.
  25. mine were both small...low 30s each. took a little reviving with those warm waters but both swam down good. ran that lure you loaned me the whole time (THANKS ) what was it again? but both came on a small muskelunch off the other side of the boat. go figure [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
