  1. there is no catch and release bass season in st lawrence county which includes the st larry and lk O waters contiguous to it, so no bass fishing in cape vincent area of NYS water at all now. i know this for certain as i have called the DEC there to clarify some ambiguity in the regs book. check out the TI bait shop on rte 12 just west of I81. you can get a canadian license and tell you about the canadian regs there. 6. thought this thing would have shot up by now and left me in the dust. I got a little room left in my bid..115 would help buy a few more feeders for em... [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  7. maybe someone will chime on with more detailed info but it seems the water levels are back up to a more normal level now from what I've seen here on i-bay at least. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  8. "somebody" ray??? looks like it was the same person who won the 2nd plow...hmm...if only I could remember who that was....

  12. contrary to local lore i do target other species on occasion...the pike was the bonus. 973 beads to be exact nah we were pulling stickbaits...my daughters been complaining that she hadn't had walleye for dinner in a while. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  13. decent night last night...trolled up a 25 inch 7lb waldo and a stout mid/high 30 pike but rookie netsmanship saved that one from a visit to the boat [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  14. I'd be happy to try them out for you tonite while I'm down at conesus...I'll even swing by your place and pick them up [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  15. if they are going to offer them direct then they need to be prepared to treat each customer like its their only one. size of the order is not a valid reason for poor customer service or at least poor communication. you have a right to be pissed [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  16. hey LS just one more question...how many beads? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  17. I've been looking at the HB 788ci too, but waiting till the price drops a bit more in the next year or so to pull the trigger, or maybe go the next step up with the down scan if it drops in price enough anyways, as far as target separation, from what I've seen, the transducer is still the same dual frequency as their other dual band units, just the screen has better pixelation for it to display more clearly. hope that helps a little...
  18. very nice fish indeed! Joe/Ellis, don't hold your breath for more info...no details, closely cropped pics, none showing the shoreline can be enlarged... coincidence...I think not pretty clear that Holy is for a reason
  19. Oh My Gosh! I can't believe it. Very sad indeed. I was just the other day thinking about giving him a ring...he and I had talked about getting out on his Whaler this spring and I was definitely looking forward to catching up and to seeing him again at the opener on Chaut. I only had the opportunity to fish with him once late last fall, but it was easy to tell what a super kind, extremely generous and truely genuine guy he was. He certainly didn't let his illness stand in the way of life either. Its a shame more guys on here didn't get a chance to meet him, get to know him and hear some of his amazing stories. He must have lived quite a life! My sympathies to his wife, children and grandchildren.
  20. gave it a good go... fished the middle section mostly. surface temps @ ~65. unlike last time there weren't many bait fish in the deeper waters or hooks on the FF when shortline trolling. guessing they headed upstream to the shallower water. so I tried the shallows on the western end but there is a ton of timber (some obvious and a lot that is submerged) and its very shallow so its really hard to navigate safely and even harder to fish without snagging constantly. wish I had a better map or a smaller tin boat to get back in there better went back to the middle section and found some weed growth off a few of the shallow bays and fished them, the bays and the timber fields along the south edge hard hoping for a lurker but nada. also, not sure if there are carp in there or not, but I definitely saw a few fish breaking water, and got a quick glance at one that sure looked it had the coloring of a light colored pure. think I'm going to wait and come back during the summer when I need a change of scenery. hopefully by then the fish will be concentrated back in the deeper, cooler water again.
  21. not surprised unfortunately...got em in Erie, it feeds the Niagara...guess what feeds the canal [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
