  5. I run 10 lb mason Tline for browns.... this past weekend we landed a 9lb eye and a steely that was close to ten... we ended up fighting that steely for a while
  6. I tie my own tourny ties with 40lb big game and translucent faceted beads
  7. That boat have a tiller? I think I saw you out there.... Gray Lund with a burgandy top and honda out board.....
  8. So your talking about running it with a seth green rig............ I think a giant pike bobber with a center pin would be your best bet... that way you could just pull the pin when it got to the boat. I think GLA talked about using them for copper in the last issue.
  9. nice job guys!! the weekend cant come soon enough
  10. It was all business today brian...
  11. I buy the Daiwa heartland kokanee downrigger rods (8.5' UL action) and they are great.. I also run them for oneida eyes and spring browns on LO
  12. this saturday I am launching in sodus
  13. I run both, but for browns I like the big boards... When I fish walleyes on LO I run the offshore inlines with the upgraded or-18 snapper clip (keep the board locked on the line so you can take it off)..... some things to consider: big boards allow you to run more lines, big boards are more user friendly for multiple hook ups, big boards dont pass directly over the fish, big boards DO have lag time and inlines if you lock them on the line dont (thats why I use the inlines for LO eyes, BETTER hook-ups), inlines dont run as smoothly if you have drematiclly different pulling baits (they dont run in formation well with a big deep RR and a shallow small stick at the same time), inlines are easier to put out for just a couple lines, inlines are cheaper if you run just a few lines, inlines can be harder to read with a small fish But theres a tool for every job and to each their own.. good luck!
  14. nice job landperch
  15. I have never done it... but if I did... I would use the water noodles recomended in that article as my float but fashion as follows (from end to end) Lead decoy anchor > 10-20 ft of para cord > half a water noodle with cord attached at one end > 30 lb leader attached from water noodle at same end as the para cord, with a 3/4 oz bass sinker tied at the end and two baited snells off the middle > 10 more feet of para cord then another water noodle rig (repeat 2 more times) > then 10-20 ft of cord and another decoy anchor. I would tie the para cord and line off one end of the water so that it stands on end when a fish strikes, I would use swivel snaps to attach the leaders to the noodle and the snells to the line so that i can put it away easily with minimal tangles. now my last thing is.... is this legal?
