  5. Posting for a good friend - 19' Javelin Renegade Bass Boat with 150hp Johnson, front mounted trolling motor, 2 fish finders, built-in dual battery charger, and includes anchor, life jackets, boat cushions, bumpers, ropes, etc. The boat and trailer are lightly used and in great shape. He would like to get $10k and willing to consider any reasonable offers. I'll add photos as soon as he sends them.

  14. While this thread has created a lot of great discussion and the decline in Seneca fishing is likely a multi-faceted issue, I think we've all witnessed a very big increase in the lamprey problem. Almost every trout I've put in the boat the past few years (which is far fewer than years past!) has either had a lamprey hanging onto it or a fairly fresh wound from one. I've even had several occasions of lamprey hanging onto the downrigger ball when I pulled it up! My question is "what can we do other than continue to buy our fishing licenses and complete survey diaries every year to promote/support a more aggressive lamprey control program?". Not sure if the rainbows that Nick started this thread with we're also victims of the lamprey but my guess it most of them we're at least wounded if not killed by them.
  15. While the sewage spill was certainly a bad thing, the degradation of the fishing has been going on for more than a few years. In my opinion it is time more of us got involved raising concern to the community, the DEC, and Cornell labs to get to the bottom of what’s happening to our lake. 16. Makes me question continuing to upgrade/improve my camp on Seneca - should probably be looking at moving to a different lake instead of trailering to Cayuga to catch a fish!
  17. We probably all see the DEC newsletters on all the wonderful things they're doing - ashamed they never seem to mention how bad the fish are doing in Seneca!
  18. Haven’t posted much in a while but had a fun afternoon on Cayuga! Seneca had been pretty slow again this Season so went to Cayuga more than once this season. Launched from Dean’s Cove around 10am and the weeds were pretty thick on the west side so decided to head across to the east side and setup just a bit north of Long Point where we marked bait around 140 FOW. 15 minutes to the 1st laker on the rigger off a gambler rig behind a grease trap, picked up a decent LL on the stacked rod with an FLT spoon 20 minutes later. Worked that area for another hour and only another dink LL so picked up and shot back to the east side just north of Sheldrake setup and the spoon goes off right away with another decent LL then bang on the gambler rig hitting my biggest laker this season.
