  1. I think you mean spinny, short for Dreamweaver Spin Doctor.
  2. White Glow Spinny with Mirage or no see um on wire on one side set high or in the upper range of the temp Green Dot Spinny/Live Wire/Show Time/Mountain Dew/NBK/42nd with Hammer Fly, Green Crinkle, 42nd Fly, Pro Am, B-fly on the other wire set right in 50-52 degree water in other words stagger them a by 25-50 ft to see where the biters are. One rigger- in cold water high mid to high 40's with one of the combo's mentioned above, if your looking for matures put a flasher fly deeper in the colder water. Other rigger, mag spoon with either a fixed or free slider. Mag on bottom 28, stingray/SS size on the slider. I run these types of programs all the time and catch fish of all sizes and species, this is a morning and evening program I like alot of glows. When it's sunny I like bright blues and greens and chrome spinny's. I'm far from expert but I've done my homework and have had alot of banner days when I come up from Ohio.
  3. Must be using canadian measurements!
  4. A guy on the spoonpulls site said he has 500 feet of .037 45lb with 950 feet of 30 lb braid backing even if you go to 50lb you'll have room.
  5. I use 9 ft Shimano TDR's with Twili tip, great action no issues for 30.00 bucks you can't beat them
  6. I agree 21P is alot of wheel I would try a 17 or 19. I'm actually having trouble spinning my 21P with a full load right now but only with a full load, with 2 people it's fine add a 3rd and 4th and it's boggy, higher temps and humity with warmer water play a role per my dealer. I only have the problem in July-August, weird.
  7. Or just don't pack fish and not have to worry about it, you'll probably catch more fish anyways, traffic can and will shut down the bite. I'm far from a salmon expert but know a thing or two about walleye, the less boats the better, try and stay away from everyone or at least a good distance and you won't have any problems. Knowing that we can't fix other people's stupidity most guys don't know how to keep a straight troll going to begin with let alone keep their eyes peeled for big board or chute rods so you can't assume they know what kind of spread your running I just try and stay away. I had my leadcore wrapped by one boat who cut right across my transom so either I don't run it or I stay away. I fish out of Olcott most guys pull out and drop them right away, you get west of the barn or east of the microwave and traffic is nill past those points and most of the bigger fish I've caught have come from past those points makes sense to me! I know I know captain obvious stay away and less problems but then again the obvious isn't so obvious.
  8. are y talking about the aluminum riser swivel bases from cannon? i have those too. they suck, there is like a 1/4 of play back and forth on them. should of just got berts for a extra 6 bucks I have the 6 inch swivels and mine got loose on me as well, had to take my vectors off and tighten up the big main bolt that runs through the center of the base plate. I choose the Cannon's because I like the swivel on them over the traxtech and bert's models and needed a 6 inch. I do like them though but it sucks I have to tighten them up, considering I only run my riggers 20 days a year and they are only mounted half the season.
  9. Sucks! been to ER twice and have done surgery on friends twice on my boat using the string around the hook and yank trick and it worked. MY fiance got hooked perchin on Erie, she passed out when I yanked it out of her, she won't go perching anymore. Happens all the time, I know alot of guys who it's happened to as well. I'm alot more careful now than in years prior. Crankbaits walleye fishing is what got me.
  10. Thats funny I can't get a spin Dr to go , but have good luck with the e-chips. We should compare notes Word....I don't know what it is. I've ran coyote's, e-chips, R&R's, 11 inch paddles of all brands, king fishers, enticers's I have them all in all sorts of colors I just can't get them to go good. I catch steelies on them and shakers but that's it! Spin doc not problem catching. What length flies you running? Speed?
  11. What's the point of the extra 10 ft leader? Less connection points the better IMO, more could mean potentially just another spot to fail between you and the fish of a lifetime. Just a thought
  12. Have you tried an inline noise filter on your power lead?
  13. Lowrance HDS-7, HDS-8 or HDS-10. The broadband performance is amazing on lake ontario. You'll mark sliders on riggers, and even your divers when they are being deployed, amazing sonar capabilities.
  14. Mine are about 7 ft plus I run a 12 inch clear snubber. I may take Tim's advice and go longer. I run 10's for walleye in clear water. I use 50lb Seaguar leader material for flashers and 30 for spoons (if I remember to change the leader)
  15. Ohh good you'll leaving when I'm arriving, you can tell me where the bite is at good luck man!
  16. I did have 15lb round balls, upgraded to 13 torpedo's I really like them, my transducer is in my hull and only running a 200hz so I had alot of trouble marking them with the balls and noticed I mark the torpedo's considerably better now so I know for a fact I have MUCH less blow back even with 2lbs less weight. I'm impressed so far. I'm also running subtroll. I have Vectors so they will handle whatever I throw at them, they are even quicker now which is great.
  17. If they have flush fitting motors and they say "sea" in the serial numbers you basically have a Saltwater version of an Optimax. They usually look like this. Blue stickers means salt, red is freshwater, you have some corrortion resistant pieces parts in your motor made for harsh salt enviroments the dead giveaway is the flush. My motor doesn't have that and non of my friends Opti's do either.
  18. I went with a Shimano 800 with marked copper. No lincounter. First Tekota I'll own I'm a Diawa man but have fished with them and they have nice drags and fish great. Looking forward to fishing with it. Depending on how this goes, maybe next year I'll get another Tekota or try out a 300 high speed Saltist. Thanks for the input.
  19. That's weird, Do they say Saltwater on the sides in blue writing? If so those are geared toward Saltwater enviroments and I have seen them on alot on center consoles down south (some up here) and have some different parts in them to prevent corrortion they probably have a flush on them as well. If it's a direct injected 2 stroke DI it's an Opti. What does your cowling say.
  20. Optimax ( I own one) are 2 stroke direct injected motors, I'm not familar with the Sea Pro's but the current Mercury site only shows them up to 60hp they are made for tough commercial use. Do you have a link or a picture?
  21. I'm going to beat this horse just a little more. I'm going to order a loaded copper from Tom at ATM. Below is were my line of thinking is at on these reels. Clarion 400 or 450 high speed- Are high speeds where it's at? is the jury out on the Clarion. Takota 400 or 450- will I regret not having high speeds? Is the Shimano that much better of a reel for the cost. Saltist 300- Every reel on my rig is Diawa but the linecounter on the left will be in my arms way while cranking and I think it will get annoying. Once again is high speed where it's at and is a 300 enough if I only have one. I'm thinking this is my last choice this setup is -2 as far as plus and minuses go What do you guys think? BTW I fish from the Bar to the Olcott so west end guy. I just want to do it right the first time around, I'm getting one this year and one next year.
  22. I have Subtroll, I'm happy with it I guess, I had a couple issues with the cable but they were both my fault and it was when I was first getting dialed in and now I'm good and dont forsee any issues. I threatened to sell it and go with an X4 but I have a 50+ mph boat and I don't have a transducer hanging off my boat now and don't want one so I'm sticking with it. I really like the fact that replacement probes are 179 and I can get parts right in Buffalo as well, my buddy has gone there direct and that's a big plus IMO.
  23. same as above but in all spin docs. I can't get my flashers to go I have to be doing something wrong. I would add 42nd spinny as well as mountain dew, both of these have there days don't fish without them.
  24. This guy has 55 for sale for 125.00 http://www.ohiogamefishing.com/communit ... p?t=179358 He's actually located in PA.
  25. Bingo, strong and it you can saw what little fleas collect on it very easiely. 1000ft spool fits on a Diawa 47 perfect.
