Lake Ontario Windmills--Please be heard!!!
K Gonefishin replied to Capt Vince Pierleoni's topic in Open Lake Discussion
The county auditor last week...and finally the kingpin of the whole thing...the county commissioner I told you this was going on daily. This is the kind of corruption Cleveland has been dealing with for who knows how long, this guys have been in office a long time. Heck even the mayor we had 2 terms ago stole 11 million dollars, then we had some lady who did nothing...geez. I'm 30 years old maybe in my lifetime something good will happen. Is Buffalo this bad.? http://www.cleveland.com/ -

This city is so screwed up. Almost all of our city leaders offices have bee raided by the FBI and have been charged with bribery and a slew of other charges. Everyone in this town is crooked it's sickening. One news story after another how things aren't getting done and every time we turn around people are getting busted, I can only image that politicians are wrapped up in some shady contract deal with this one as well. I've been wanting to attend some meeting but they just do what they want behind closed doors. Knowing Cleveland it won't get off the ground just like the Medical Mart, the Flats renovations, Casino's, moving the Port of Cleveland, Lakefront developement etc. It's all a big sick joke around here. -

Bad news for us down here on Erie, right off my home port of Cleveland Ohio. Nobody seem to really care down here....sad very very sad. Looks like wind farms is a reality for us. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index ... ropos.html -
I fished Olcott fri, sat and sun, only caught matures on flasher fly's and jplugs. steelies and shakers hit spoons off riggers cheated and clean both. R&R Razor Mags (watermelon and copper NKB), NK-28 Diehard were best. Tried moonshines and some mag and stingray stingers but nada but I was typically running to slow to get those moving really good. The lighter and smaller spoons did better.

We had high hopes for saturday morning hoping some stable condtions and temp would get them fired up. First thing saturday morning we started out in front in the 50's. Ended up boating 3 matures in the morning by 9:30 then it got slow till around 1:45 I had a J on the rigger 30 back for hours I was cleaning up the boat to run in and pick up a friend, it fires hard a nice fish comes flying out of the water like a tarpon a couple times gets tired and all wrapped up in the line and J plug but we boxed it. I look in the net the harness is a wreck and the line is broke we have no idea how we landed the fish, nuts! Went in at 2:30 to pick up a friend made a 5 mile to the plant dead into the 3-5's to set up to troll to go with them, took a wicked shot wire but nobody home damn we trolled to the barn and said let's go drink some beers and eat so we we packed up at 7 but on the way in it started to lay down I said one more prime time pass in our zone were we caught all our fish and took all the other shots by the microwave, not long after we get set the rigger pops while I'm on the phone we boated our 4th mature of the day just before dark and got my buddy his fish he came out for....sweet/ Sunday ice water blew our 58 FOW zone we pounded all day from saturday were we caught fish, we pointed it north and found good bait and some decent hooks in 115-125 took it with the building waves down to the plant and picked up some fish till we had our 6 and went home happy. Some pics from saturday. Didn't get the monster fish we wanted but happy with the results given the back to back blows and screwed up temps the lake has been taking a beating on. Can't wait till next season. It's walleye time on Erie from here on out!

In need of a heads up on Olcott -
K Gonefishin replied to amberjack255's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Thanks Vince, Well I can't catch kings on the couch in Ohio that's for sure!!! I'll be watching your tweets and I'll be updating mine throughout the weekend as well if you want to follow me any info is good info IMO. I come up for the love of the game as you said when I can. Screaming kings is what draws me in. A couple other Ohio friends got in on the bar action before the blow and absolutely smoked big fish, I hope our weekend is the same. -
Defintely worth the 10 bucks I have it on my Droid.

I didn't respond to you PM so I'll post here. I'm leaving tonight after work, hope to get out Friday but by what I'm used to on Erie it's a standard day and saturday and sunday look good. I'll post my results. Monday looks good but didn't look past that and I'll be on my way home at noon on sunday. 3 boats are heading up from Ohio, all experienced fisherman, we will be fishing from the bar to 30 mile so we'll have alot of area covererd. -
They seem to be the GoTo grip to use by most of the charter captains on Lake St Clair for Musky's, as everyone knows Musky are 100% C&R how bad could they be? I'm curious as to what these articles say about them myself. will have to do some checking around.

2010 A-TOM-MIK Photo Contest (Winners listed)
K Gonefishin replied to A-TOM-MIK's topic in Fishing Pictures
Maybe you guys did . The out of town guys only get a few shots up there. It was worth a shot LOL -
From my understanding the platnium is a premium chip with the 3-d overlays and pictures. You might want to check out the new "Fish N Chips". These look awesome and have the most "fishy" features. The screen shots look amazing

FOR SALE: A&S handlining reel & accessories
K Gonefishin replied to jfneron's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
I would put them on walleye central on the swap board -
HDS-5 would be a great choice, the broadband sonar is awesome. FYI- 700 series Birds have been having a ton of bad transducers, Bird is taking care of the problem and well but it's still a problem...if you go with the Bird might want to wait till all the bad ones are weeded out or you might have a small headache.

They will need rebuilds soon, regardless if they run good today, that could change tomorow, that's ALOT of hours.

I've broke alot of glass trolling rods too, my planer board rods for walleye are glass, I've snapped who knows how many over the years but I do like them and I get them replaced under warranty. Here is a pic of my Shimano TDR's 9 ft med heavy's under full load running 3.0 on top 1.5 setting with spin doc and fly's. Barely any bend before the first eye but plenty after plenty of bone IMO. I really like these rods. 34.99 each.

Calibrating Moore Sub Troll
K Gonefishin replied to K Gonefishin's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Thanks and that's what I figured. And I do what works for me and my boat and as you know I don't have a problem putting slime in the boat. I'll be up there weekend after labor day fishing Friday, Saturday, sunday. Hopefully the inside bite for big guys and gals is set up just right! -
Saw a post or two about this. How is it done? I don't have a paddle wheel just 2 lowrance GPS units on my boat. Seems like my GPS speed is always within .2 of my Sub Troll no matter what but based on how much I have to crank up my kicker to troll into the waves/current (say going west or into the waves when i know I'm facing current) or with them to maintain current speed and watching the bend in my divers and angle in my rigger cables I have a feeling more current exists. I did purchase the head unit from someone else, it very well could be possible the guy who had it prior to me calibrated it to a lowrance GPS so therefore it reads around the same so I am getting consistant readings. Any help on calibration would be appreciated. thanks guys.

Awesome looking fish.

Spiny Water fleas that attach to your line when trolling, they make reeling in line impossible cloggin up reels and guides. Thinner diameter the worse they collect 30 pound mono they have a hard time attaching themselves (when they are bad nothing stops them completely) to it or Cortland Flea Flicker.

spin docotr colors. what to purchase
K Gonefishin replied to bob03567's topic in Tackle and Techniques
I would add 42nd, make sure you have at least 3-4 chrome ones. NKB is a good chrome one and micheal jackson. And wht/glow boy blue. Wonderbreads, cows or any dalmations really seem to be good. I have green dot and it's probably my favorite spin doc as the other poster commented.
