  3. If you don't want to spend big money on a rod, Shimano Compre 8'6 XH is a great rod for around 110.00, the Cabelas Tourney Trail rods are very nice for the money as well. I owned both of these rods before upgrading to all st croix legend tournaments.

  15. My cousin just got one, I really like it. I have a Long Ranger I use for smaller bucktails and lots of other baits, I really like the rod.The Big Dawg I checked out which is basically the Pouder big rubber rod and that rod is too stiff, the big nasty is real nice for bigger blades and rubber etc. I appreciate the offer but I'm in Ohio, but I used my cousins and like it, the problem is it's one piece and since it's 9ft it barely fits in the trucks cab and has to ride in the boat, I prefer rod that telescope so i can fit them in my rod locker of my Ranger, I can fit an 8'3 rod without collapsing it and longer ones if the do collapse, A Tackle Industries rod is also on my list plus alot cheaper than the big nasty and comes in split grip telescope, so does the Compre and I think Tooth Tamer makes a telescoping rod. So many choices.
  16. I have a 300 HD, no issues, mine is 7:1 perfect for burning bucktails under 10's. I wouldn't own a 5:1 reel to slow for me. I am going to get a new Tranx in the spring to pair with a Big Nasty, should be the ulimatec combo for bigger rubber and 10s

My buddy trolled yesterday hooked one lost it then west casting till 230 am no fish. Lake gonna be ripping till late Saturday but I'm sure it's gonna be rolling big time even after wind comes down. Sunday was looking good but still NE and stiff. Weekend for lake fishing a bust imo. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  25. I've been coming up from Ohio for 11 seasons and have yet to break the 30 mark, If I catch one (i hope to eventually) and it's a clean looking fish and has good color i would probably mount it, i wouldn't mount a mud shark though. I don't live in NY so only get so much time to King fish. In Ohio I've lost count of 10 and 11 lb walleye many moons ago. I've boated 8 eyes over 12, one low 13, I always said if i get a teen I would mount it, finally caught one, I put in the livewell admired it for for awhile took some pics and let her go. Most guys would mount a 12 without a doubt if they were looking to hang one, I throw them back if they are healthy, some guys have yet to catch a 10 even in Ohio. Really all depends on the person and what you would consider a trophy worth spending the money on that you want to look at on your wall. No straight answer.
