I have a Pro Kicker, I absolutely love it ZERO complaints I've had it since September of 2007, the electric start and power trim/tilt are awesome, has awesome thrust with the 4 blade prop and it's not all that cold blooded at all. I do have friends with the yamaha T-8 and they have fished on my boat and they have said mine is a little easier starting when cold. They perform about the same but I think the extra blade on the prop can help even though the blade surface might be the same overall (yamaha has 3 big blades vs merc 4 smaller blades) both are awesome motors that will run all day on little gas and pure like a kitten. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Find a good dealer, match price points and warranty and if you have outboard power already pick one that will match and go for it you won't be dissapointed in either as both are solid kickers. I do know Merc has an extra long shaft (25 inch) if you need one that long I don't think Yamaha has one. Let me know if you have any specific questions about the Merc or Yammy I can put a few calls in two of my good friends have T-8's.

It was locked not with the gadget you posted but I am going to get one of those looks extra tough, they took the whole 2 inch reciever out of my class 3 hitch, the only thing they left was my wire harness extender connector.

It's still in the water at a private marina on Lk Erie...which was nice because I kept fishing actually, easier on the truck getting to and from the lake without towing the boat. This happened on the 9th actually and I was hesitant to post it here but figured what the heck it can't hurt. It's on ohiogamefishing and walleye central since a ton of people know me and my boat there I have over 8K views between those sites and alot of folks know me in the walleye world through tourney's etc figured more eyes can't hurt to keep a look out for it. A new trailer is getting built now should be at my dealer by the end of next week I hope. I'm chaining my wheel together when the ramp area is pretty empty in Cleveland.

While out night fishing in Cleveland Ohio on Erie for Walleye some low life scumbags stole the trailer to my boat. I know it's a long shot but if anyone sees it or sees it for sale somewhere or on ebay, craigslist, local boat trader someone using it for a boat for storage anywhere please let me know. It very well could have been stolen and taken out of state. This trailer sticks out like a sore thumb and it's a custom trailer made specifically for the hull of my boat and my boat only with matching fenders on the trailer Ranger build their own trailers unique for each model boat they sell so it really only fits my boat but it will fit the smaller models in the lineup I would image. Just figured I would throw it out there on another site I'm a member of you just never know....man been a rough year first my truck got hit in the parking lot at Olcott now someone decides they want my trailer more than I do...bastards Here's a photo of it.

Gottcha, I have a couple but they look different the ones I have are more clear baits, they say those suckers will dive 48 ft You pull any 900 series rip sticks? Saltwater series xraps or saltwater bombers?
-
What kind of baits are those?

Here are some pigs we have taken in the past couple trips off Cleveland, in the one pic you can see the Rock N Roll hall of fame in the backround. Just wanted to share some piggies with you guys. Thundersticks, Bombers, F-18's. 20-35 back over 25-38 FOW.

I have Vector riggers, defintely a premium rigger and at a premium price, bulletproof construction, they are bar far the coolest looking rigger on the market along with Cisco, Cisco has the best rod holders period. Vector's have a great warranty and warranty department and are SUPER fast. I run 15 pound balls, handles them like a breeze. Alot of my friends are Cannon guys very happy with the mag 10's and 20's, good but much slower than the Vectors. Pick your price point and poison...down here on Ohio waters of Erie..Nobody runs Scotty so I can't comment on them.

1st walleye trip to the North this year, pics/video
K Gonefishin replied to Landshark's topic in Walleye
This is pretty much what happens here in Cleveland as the schools migrate back from the east (shorelines are structure and feature-less) they run into cleveland which has a power plant with warm water discharge, 8 miles of breakwalls with bends and points, the Cuyahoga River which is the Port of Cleveland, all sorts of current and structure rip through all these areas and they all stop here and eat the shad, smelt and emeralds. The shad and emeralds get so think you can almost walk on them. Another thing that is unique about the fishing is that we're actually fishing 6 inches to 5 ft down over 20-40 FOW. They are higher riders cruising for easy meals I've seen eye balls with my light shining over the side of the boat....it's awesome -

Yep Cleveland Ohio....I mentioned it before...if any of you guys want to make a trip down here for some sick Erie action I'll put you guys on fish and tell you where and how. Erie is next best to Quinte. Once Huron/Vermilion waters clean up from a recent blow fishing is going to be stupid easy, our night bite is just starting to go, guys are pulling up to 15 fish is around the best I've heard in a 5-6 hour trip. -

Fished Cleveland last night but felt like quinte, went 6 for 9 after work but the 3 biggest went 8.3, 10.1 and 12.5...20 minutes from the house gotta love it. 55 degrees and lake was a pankake. -
Sounds good, I have heard that before but wanted to get some more confirmation from Lake O guys. I found some 140 coated that ATM sells for 34.99 I'll add that to one of my winter orders. Thx!

I prefer Lowrance, many chips available as far as mapping options go and you get alot of bang for your buck. As far as ease of use and easy to read and navigate with while on the water they also get the nod. Ray, Bird, Garmin, Furuno all make good stuff, my biggest gripes with them are hard to use and hard to see what's going on on the screen and easy things like dropping a way point with an icon or finding a distance between 2 not so easy with those units. If not a lowrance Garmin would be my pick for a stand alone chartplotter. Just my opinon though.

I need to pick up some coated cable and I use 15 pound round balls but I'm going to get some sharks ( maybe just 1 for probe rigger not sure yet), just aquired a Moore Sub Troll so need to get coated cable for my Vector riggers. Any suggestions on Coated Cable for pulling heavy weights. 150 or 200 pound? Or brand where do you guys get yours> Thanks

Landshark do you know the bite up there on the Q pretty well. If I plan a trip can I contact you for area info?
-
Exactly...why else would anyone in there right mind leave lake erie, bay de noc, green bay etc. LOTS OF MONSTERS!!! A true fish of a lifetime or a couple in one trip. They can be had on Erie but you might fish for 10-20 years before getting a 13 or 14...a 15 probably never happen.

Reef Runner makes a color pretty darn close called cotton candy. available in all sizes except 900 but all other stick bait styles. If you get the baits and want them custom painted search Downriver Tackle, Jim does all my custom painting, very reasonable and very quallity, if you want to see some custom cranks he did pm your email. Here is what the Reef Runner Cotton Candy looks like. I actually have one of these baits in the original and I got it from a salmon guy in Michigan it's caught so many fish the paint is half gone LOL. http://www.xtackle.com/Reef-Runner-158.aspx

Yeah I made it up to Lake O for 4 trips this year but all for salmon fishing, no reason for me to make a long trip for walleye when I live on walleye capital of the world. I live 30 minutes from Erie around Cleveland area ramps, 1hr 15 from the islands.

In all hononstly the best place to fish for walleye in the fall for is the Huron/Vermilion area of Lake Erie in Ohio. 20-40 fish days are common (if the weather is solid 50-60 can happen) and the norm and this fall the average fish will be in the 5-6 pound range with plenty of 7-9's to go around with awesome shots at muliple hogs per trip if weather allows late into the year. Day or night bite and you can catch them along the shorelines to around 1-3 miles out, plenty of protected water to fish when the wind is blowing as well, expecially in Cleveland with all the breakwalls. If anyone wants to make the trip let me know I'll put you on fish no questions asked, GPS numbers, programs, baits, colors, launches, places to stay, tackle shops, ramps, etc. Erie's fall bite in Huron is really no secret you just have to get down here to expererience it's awesome. The only reason I would go to Q is to try and get a couple fish over 11. I can pull 10's down here but for muliple trophy's with a shot at a 14-16 is what I would make the trip for and to fish somehwere different for once.
-
Good Luck and post some results when you get back, I'm going on a cruise with the woman in november so only local fishing for me but it's awesome anyways down here on Erie. Q is just something I just have to check out being such a hardcore walleye nut. Erie can give up tons of 7-9's with a 10 but not the quanity of monsters that Q has from what I hear. My buddy did get a 14 last November on Erie but that's not the norm. I did get a 12 this spring.

I gotta make that Quite trip one of these days, although here in Cleveland we have a hell of a night bite when it goes. Here's some eye please no for ya. I'm getting ready to kick off the night bite season as well down here on Erie. A few with me and my buddy's. Thanks for your service sucks about the kicker motor!

6 additional pics were added to the site I posted, the expresion on the guys face changed every time. I'll admit the fish does look very odd but how often do you see a 50 pound musky. I got a pic of one my buddy caught that was 50 1/2 around 35-27 pounds and every time I look at it I think it's fake and I was there and measured it and took the damn picture LOL Here's the replica with him holding it, he's goes around 280 image him holding it upright? makes sense to me!
