  1. Speak up! Last chance to volunteer or nominate for office. So far we have just 1 person for each slot. If I hear no others then I guess we have our new officers come Jan 1.
  2. A lot of damage can still be done in the next two months before the new seats get filled.
  3. Unfortunately we do not fair much better in PA with Wolfe getting elected.
  4. You had a sweet deal with winterization and inside storage at that price.
  5. After years of serving as President of the association and chair of our pen program Capt. Jim Jared has resigned do to health concerns. I would like to thank Jim for all he has done. If it were not for him grabbing the bull by the horns then we would not have the successful program we have today. This season well behind us our next tasks are not until next spring but before that we need to elect a slate of officers, and board members. Any interested parties please contact me by e-mail [email protected] and title the response FHFA so I recognize it and do not accidentally delete it. Thru nominations or volunteers I will develop a slate for an election that we can either hold at a meeting or by mail if I get contact info from all parties interested. Werner
  6. Saw the first fish in the marina yesterday. Just one, only saw him once.
  7. Ditto on the lightfields. I've got a 20 Rem rifled barrel and it was the tightest group of all I tried.
  8. Yes this years mature fish should have an adipose clip if stocked. Next year on all bets are off because the clipping was not done after the study. The marina area will load up with Kings usually by Halloween. Should be later this year.
  9. Was out this past weekend and found fresh fish in 180-220. As of yet we have not seen our pen fish entering the bay in any numbers, so they are still out there somewhere.
  10. 50 here also
  11. Were bites coming on turns? Do you have a tendency to turn more often in the same direction?
  12. the dive rate is approximately 2/1 should not be tangling your coppers unless you let them rise up after you release them.

  15. And better news yet.......Kings have returned!
  16. Use the 12 hour feeder.
  17. We went to automatic feeders this year. Load them in the morning and done. they are not very big as far as storage goes. They were fastened to the dock via a couple of 2x4s and had no issues feeding thru the mesh covers. http://pentairaes.com/12-hr-belt-feeder.html
  18. Yes, He built my hard top. I had a good experience with him. On 104 in between Red Creek and Wolcott.
  19. For those looking for other things to keep the family amused around Fair haven the day of the Challenge, check out Pirate Fest.
  20. OK enough! Every one just take a Xanax and relax. Let's repeat what everyone just said. Migratory, bait, weather, currents. Its a big pond. The fish are out there. With winds flipping we have all seen them, just not as long as we would like to. These fish move and will go with the flow. Would I like to believe that all the 40 # kings will be parked off Fair Haven on August 23rd, YOU BET! Reality is they, can, will, and do move. We wish they were more predictable than they are, but take this opportunity to round out your skills on our other great species.
  21. Most likely letting it out too fast. When deploying, engage the reel and loosen the drag so it plays out slowly.

  23. Contact Jon Rice 315-224-6921. He is looking to be an observer.
  24. No need for a crimp. Make a loop and tie a simple overhand knot just like you would on a wire diver, The egg is the snap under the swivel. Drill and tap for a new eye or trade the weight in (scrap lead value) to someone who casts torpedos for a discount on a new weight.
  25. finned balls can corcksrew on the way down if dropped too fast. We see this with other styles of balls too. With the set up you posted, if that were happening, it would spin the blacks release with it. Try adding a heavy snap swivel below the release and see what happens.
