  2. Ron, Rich, Beth, and everybody that runs, supports, or participates in the Little Salmon River Challenge. I would like to thank you all for choosing the Fair Haven Net Pen Project as the recipient of your 2010 fund raising efforts. Your generosity will go a long way towards improving the fishery of the entire Lake Ontario community. We have all seen how the net pens improve survivability of our stocked fish as well as dispersing them thru-out the lake for all to enjoy. This past year we successfully raised 25000 kings and 9000 steelies. We are building a third pen this winter in anticipation of expanding our program. You are great friends and neighbors.
  3. Our best this weekend was 250-350' of water straight out front. A north south troll was most productive. The fish wanted it very slow in the am 1.5-1.8 at the ball. faster later in the day. White and white w/ green dot chips and SD with A-Tomik white halo, hammer, and LOC live. Green green in the am then the chrome/ green dot spinny w/ green hammer, and Crazy **** spinny / fly combo. 105 - 135 down and 240 mag dipsey. guys that were pulling metal and sliders were also getting into some nice steelies. BEWARE of some very wicked currents down speed was a must!
  4. Great job guys! I only wish I could have been there.
  5. Water level has come up quite a bit. We are at most a foot off the norm now.
  6. Fair Haven fire works on Sunday
  7. Most local boats are on 68, 72, 5 for charters, if too much chatter I just turn mine off.
  8. Fishing was good out of Fair Haven. Plenty of kings! Friday was an absolute blood bath with many boats having double digit hookups and returning many 2 year olds to keep space in the boxes for the mature fish. Slowed a little on Saturday but still had action on both day and evening trips. Atomik flies on the riggers was where it was at for us. Green Chip/ green, White green dot SD / Hammer, White chip /LOC live. 200-300' 95-120 down.
  9. The fishing in the east end has been very difficult over the past week. If the calm weather persists we will have a stable thermo-cline shortly. We did find smaller browns were active Sunday night right into the dark. Marked bait and fish from the 30' range out to 120' yesterday but the fish are still inactive. Beware there is much debris that is floating in the scum lines.
  10. Tom, I applaud all you do and have done for this fishery. I stand behind you all the way. The teams should choose the name or names that represent them, not tourney directors. Why don't we just hold a socialist tourney series. No need to fish, just divy the entries and sponsor monies equally to every one.
  11. There was a bunch of debris in the water this weekend. I'm just happy that I didn't find and un-exploded ordinance with my boat!
  12. We usually monitor channels 68, 72, or 5. the net pens will be launched tomorrow morning. We have a 9am work party scheduled at Anchor Marina to prep them then launch at Bayside Marina. Fish should arrive next week.
  13. the blow that's coming thru tomorrow night should muddy the water up. We did well last weekend in 5-10' of water. Atlantics and Cohos were also in there. The Goby pattern has been one of the most consistant over the last couple of years. These fish are adapting and feeding on the bottom dwellers. The Savant Jake seems to match the hatch well and has produced some great fish for us. The Oswego Green dalmation scored several fish also.
  14. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Popeye ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):4/2-4/2010 Time on Water:Late am Weather/Temp:Sunny warm Wind Speed/Direction:South Waves: Surface Temp: 50.6 Location:chute to blind sodus LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== It was a great first few days on the water for the Popeye. Shake down went well. Fishing was productive when we got out. Spoons and sticks both worked. A Goby Savant Jake even won the fight against and atlantic in the 22" range. Hope to see 'em next season. 8 - 10' of water right out front was productive, no need to travel. Just a reminder to all of the cold water safty regs, boats 21 and under need to wear life jackets. local LEOs ran out of ink this past week.====================
  15. The State park in Fair Haven has a wide paved launch with ample dock space to tie off and plenty of parking. There is also a smaller public launch at the end of king rd. but not paved or deep and parking is along the road.
  16. Yea it's time for an update. Fishing was real slow for us. Several missed bites. Only iced a couple of small perch.
  17. I'll be there fishing it. Probably be on the bay.
  18. I can personally vouch for Watercraft Clinic. Clint built my custom hard top on my Tiara. Did a better job with more options for much less than atlantic quoted me. The man is a perfectionist.
  19. 4th largest on Friday. Missed the money by a couple of ounces. Wish we had fridays hits on Saturday. We really had a rough day then. Came back a little on saturday but still only had half the hits we needed.
  20. Fair Haven this saturday the 15th, Scotty next week. As of this afternoon 39 boats. I expect to be over 50 boats. Lots of prizes. Even if not a top box get in it, you never know what odd prizes may be waiting for the boat in umteenth place!. Soor I didn't keep you all up to date. hope to see you saturday, Werner
  21. 7/25/09 Team Crazy **** takes on the LSRC. The south winds had water temps all over the place. Finally found some stable water at 12:45 but didn't have enough time to put a winning box together. Finishing up landing three out of 7 fish. The ladies did win their "gentlemens bet" with Team Sparks however. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h320/ ... m****.jpg
  22. It's less than 4 weeks to the Fair Haven Challenge. Tickets are available at Screwy Louie's Sport Shop. I will also have applications with me at the LSRC this weekend. Hope to see you there.
  23. We are planning the same event again next year. Veterans will be friday / sat and kids event sunday, last weekend in June (free fishing weekend). We expect more vets next year so we will need more boats.
